It's not the best picture, but I finished my velvet yarn blanket!! It's so soft, so big, and completely dreamy. I can only imagine all the naps that will happen under this blanket. 😍 (spread out on a queen size bed for measure)
January is done on the temperature blanket, I'm so excited! The blanket will be about 65" wide (just big enough for a queen size bed) This measures about 6.5in so estimating blanket to be about 75" inches long, perfect!!!
Xant found himself holding on for dear life, his body crammed into a vehicle it clearly wasn’t designed for. His tail was squished between the tall seat and the frame of the machine, his legs too far apart for them to sit comfortably in the narrow footwell, so he was almost sideways in the forward-facing seat, but that also gave him a clear view of its pilot’s insane method of ‘driving’ the shaking contraption. Jasmine didn’t even need to look where her feet and hands were going, moving them simultaneously to shift in and out of gear by instinct, all the while singing harsh, deep-throated songs at the top of her lungs. Xant had been observing the human since her revival, and while she had had her ‘aggressive’ outbursts, brought on through stress and despair respectively, to see her exercise such aggression was fascinating. She was entranced, focused on some unknown ‘enemy’ and screaming her pent up emotions at ‘it’. Xant had never seen such emotional power simply blasted into the atmosphere without worry or consequence, but he couldn’t deny he was caught up in the triumph and relief the song gave her. With practised ease, Jasmine stopped the car at the base of the enormous craft, then gleefully jumped out to climb atop the roof again. “Up here, Xant!” she called. The doctor squirmed his way out of the car and stood on the ground, looking up at the human. She pointed to a small thin ladder welded to the side of the ship’s stern. “We need to climb that to get on board.” Xant stared at her and then at the wide jump needed to cover that distance. “Is this another attempt at humour?” The human did laugh, so he supposed he was right. “Well, we could always wait for Rynard to throw you!” She smiled, making a hand motion of hefting a ball. “Like tossing a dwarf!” She giggled. Xant for the first time questioned Jasmine’s intelligence. “Perhaps we left you in stasis too long…” He quickly examined the gap. It was going to be an extraordinary effort for him to climb atop the vehicle, let alone cross the divide with his physical ability alone. He tried to mimic Jasmine’s method of climbing on the car, but his hands and feet were not able to find the small gaps her narrower ones could find. In the end she had to pull him up, and felt the roof bow with his weight. From up top the distance to the ladder seemed even greater. “How exactly do you propose we climb the ladder from here?” he asked her, but Jasmine was still riding the exhilarating high of being ‘thunderstruck’. “Like this!” Without so much as a run-up Jasmine leapt towards the ladder and landed with precision, her elongated limbs showing an agility Xant had not considered during the physical examination. “Let me reframe the question,” he huffed. “How exactly do you expect me to climb the ladder from here?!” “Oh it’s not that far, it’s barely a jump!” “Zenthi don’t ‘jump’.” “That offer for Rynard to throw you is still on the table.” Xant scoffed, took a deep breath and rationalised the situation. He was in a military-grade suit, so while his weight and aerodynamics would be affected, his strength was increased and any fall damage negated through the armour and pain blocker chems. So, even if he fell, the only thing that would suffer would be his pride. Another uncomfortable thought peeked through the rationale. He said he wanted to follow Jasmine. This would mean having to keep up with her. He couldn’t do that if he forever deliberated his shortcomings. Xant inched closer to the edge of the car and Jasmine helpfully reached out to him, hanging precariously from the metal bars. “I’ll catch you!” She encouraged him. Her arms closing the distance boosted his confidence considerably, and he swayed his body back and forth, ready to leap. This would count as the most adventurous he had been in the steel suit, forever wary of Rynard’s warning of torn ligaments. Xant closed his eyes and pushed himself forward, the suit multiplying the force needed to get him across and almost smashing into the side of the yacht. Thankfully, Jasmine was able to correct her friend’s trajectory and guided his hands to the ladder’s sides, which he clung to for dear life. Jasmine gave a loud cheer. “You did it! Way to go, Xant!” And she patted his shoulder. “Now we just have to get to the top! Did you want to go first?” Once again, he looked at the human as though she were lacking in common sense. “How do I ‘go first’? You’re clearly ahead of me!” Jasmine could only smile as she maneuvered so only one hand and arm were on the ladder, her body swaying in the open air, unafraid of the drop below. “There you go! Now you’re clear. I’ll make sure you don’t fall!” Xant shuddered, flattened his ears and forced himself to climb up the ladder. He could almost feel the thin aluminum bars being crushed under the strength of the suit, but one step at a time he climbed higher. The top was open, no hatch or easy step, so he had to scramble his way over and landed with a thud. By comparison, he heard Jasmine’s light footsteps make quick work of the ladder, and she was soon helping him up to his feet. “Careful,” she teased “you’ll scuff the deck!” “Scuff the what?...” “Take off your helmet, you’ll see things clearer!” Warily, Xant let the locks of his helmet click and examined his surroundings. It was an ‘open air room’, the floor layered like in his office, multiple steps divided for different purposes, with a deep pit made of what looked like blue plastic as the focal point of the main room. Jasmine threw her arms open. “Welcome aboard, matey!” she announced. “Enjoy the pool deck!” “Pool? Was this filled with water-” Xant took a step closer but his ears were tickled by the sound underfoot. He had assumed the floor would have been of the same steel or plastics the ship was composed of but no, underneath him, the entire floor was made of wood. The doctor spluttered, reaching down to the floor to feel it. There was more wood here than he had seen in his entire lifetime, and humans used it for *flooring. * “Ooh yeah, nothing beats a pristine hardwood deck, that’s why I told you not to scuff it.” Jasmine smiled, walking towards the glass doors. “Let’s check inside! I wonder if everything is still here?” Xant followed her. The whole building catered to a human’s sensibilities. He would be stepping into a truly alien environment. And it was beautiful. He was welcomed to a room detailed with wood and gold, whose glass windows shimmered even in the dim light. Displaced furniture, long couches and tables made of wood, extravagantly painted cloth with the shimmer of arvas pupa silk gathered dust, their beauty was comparable to imperial belongings. He ran a finger over the cushions and inspected the thin layer. “Phew! What a mess. Help me clean it up a bit…” Jasmine began lifting up an over turned chair, sliding it into a corner with an almost innate knowledge of where everything should go. The chairs, a long couch and two armchairs had all been pushed into the corner of the room the tables had slid to either end. Xant was almost too scared to touch anything. “What should I do?” he asked, afraid to risk any delicate work. “We’ll start by dusting off the chairs, then I’ll tell you where they go, okay?” “Alright...” The chairs were covered in a soft cushiony material. Xant couldn't stop brushing his hand over them as he delicately placed the furniture, and was dismayed when he saw none of them had a hole for his tail. “I’ll need help with this!” Jasmine called. The space beneath a large window was taken up by a long lounge, on which Jasmine promptly plonked herself. “Oh my god…I missed cushions.” She patted the space beside her. “Don't be shy! Take a load off!” “Just a moment.” Xant tapped his suit. He couldn't contain himself in steel any longer, the temptation to feel his new environment was too great. The suit splayed open and he was able to step out of it onto fluffy, soft carpet. Xant lost himself rubbing his feet on the soft fibers. First wood, now fabric? It was obscene! His own carpet was a precious momento, why would humans consider a laborious resource worth turning into a construction material? “Is something wrong, Xant?” “The floor, is this a common fixture?” “The carpet? I mean, the owner was a madman to have white carpet on a boat, but if you can afford something like this you’re not cleaning it yourself.” Jasmine shrugged. “Carpet’s not uncommon, but generally going out of style because it's so hard to keep clean.” Xant was both relieved and perplexed by the answer. “So the reason it is not more common is maintenance?” “Yeah, keeping carpet, let alone white carpet clean is a nightmare,” Jasmine explained, happy to be talking about the mundanity. “If you think the carpet is amazing you should try out the couch here!” Xant looked over the seat. It appeared all human furniture had a tall back support, with no consideration for large tails such as his own. He did spy a more accommodating stool, however, with the same cushiony substance on top. “I think this might be more appropriate.” He flipped over the stool and sat, comfortably, very comfortably. He let his body relax as he took in more of the surroundings through naked eyes. There were still so many things thrown about. Cleaning against the wall next to his seat Xant spied an intricately carved container. It was rectangular, heavy and for whatever reason, had uniform, pyramid-shaped protrusions on the outside decorative surely, but the design made it difficult for him to hold. He had to be very careful picking it up. Jasmine's eyes lit up when he inspected the object more closely, opening the stopper to sniff the contents within. It smelled of disinfectant. “Oh my god, yes!” The human scrambled off the couch and started rummaging through the shelves in the lonely island bench. “Jasmine?” “Ah ha!” she cried triumphantly, pulling out another uniquely shaped bottle. “Now this is going to be great!” She skipped over to Xant, picking up more glass rectangles, handed him an empty one and placed his original find on the table. She poured out an amber liquid, a drop in his glass and a more substantial pour in hers. “What is it?” Xant asked. “Old enough to vote,” she giggled, then closed her eyes and took a small sip before exhaling and shivering pleasantly. “This is...well, I'm guessing it's older now, but aged whisky, a.k.a, human alcohol.” Xant wrinkled up his nose. “Is it supposed to be this colour?” “Yes! When you drink it, you can taste the oak barrels and honey. But I know you guys use this for disinfectant, so, you get a drop if you're brave.” “Considering what it does to your physiology, I doubt my own constitution can handle it.” “Shame.” She shrugged and took another sip. Xant couldn't taste it, but watched as Jasmine melted into relaxation. “Ahhh, like drinking warm silk,” she described. He took a sniff of the sample she gave him. It was woody and sweet, but the second sniff burnt the inside of his nostrils. Xant graciously placed the ‘drink’ down, while Jasmine chuckled at his reaction. “Yeah it’s not a drink for a first timer, I think it gets even more potent the longer it sits… and who knows how long we were floating out there.” “By my best estimates, it could be anywhere between 10 to 1000 [quarters]. Calculating in the unexplored regions of the system, what is currently reachable by galactic council gates and the limit of stasis pods.” Xant informed her. Jasmine sat quietly for a moment, staring into her glass, before she threw back her head and the drink in one go. “Whoooo!” She coughed. “Okay, we've seen this room, what else is there to explore!” She swayed getting to her feet, but charged forward anyway. Xant followed close behind, in case she lost her footing, or incase the alcohol began interfering with her Freq control. The hallways connecting the chambers were very narrow, almost too narrow for him, and all of them had such sharp ascents and descents. The human led inside to one of the many inner chambers, each one as tossed around as the last. There was an entire ‘library’ of paper books, another room dedicated to the act of ‘entertaining’, featuring a destroyed dataslate the size of an operating table, and smaller ‘bedrooms’ that appeared just to be filled with more cushiony furniture. “And here is the master bedroom.” Jasmine pushed open the ornate wooden doors to reveal yet another spectacular room, almost as large as the entertainment deck, but was sparsely furnished, all Xant could see was that it contained a bed with tables either side, but the bed was nothing short of magnificent. The tapestry stretched across it was nothing short of breathtaking, where giant intertwining flowers embroidered with gold thread sprawled across its majesty. He’d never seen anything as intricate made from pure cloth, the designs were simply beautiful. “You really like that bedspread, huh?” Jasmine questioned. Xant ran his hand over the quilt, picking it up and feeling the weight of it, wondering what it was like to not be mesmerised by it all. “Are humans always surrounded by such beauty?” he asked. The question caught her off guard, and she looked around the room. “Not always, but, at the same time, this is closer to what it’s like on earth than either the station or the base.” She held her arms wide as she took lazy steps across the room. “Windows, pictures and paint on the walls, bedsheets and pillows...we like ‘beautiful’ surroundings.” She fell backward onto the large bed, rolling on the blankets and looking up at Xant. “You’ve got no excuse not to feel what the bed is like.” Xant sighed, took a deep breath and mimicked Jasmine’s actions, letting himself flop forward onto the bed. It was fluffy and soft. “I think the sheet’s a genuine 1000 thread count too. Maybe I could make a proper cape out of this, huh?” “It is absolutely fascinating that humans sleep on such luxury.” “The lucky ones sleep on such luxury! But I do appreciate bedsheets after going without for so long.” Her attention was shortening by the moment, as she rolled off the most comfortable place in existence to peek around a door. “The ensuite!!” she squealed. “Oh Xant, you have to see what a real bathroom looks like!” If the master bedroom was the most comfortable place in the world, then the ensuite was the most ornate. Xant couldn’t even identify what half the items were in the room, but they apparently all pertained to the simple act of grooming. Long, wide mirrors lined one entire side of the room, double marble basins and chrome taps sat beneath them. Frosted glass windows, a bath big enough to fit four and a bidet decorated with gold made up the rest of the fixtures. Jasmine once again began rummaging through the shelves, making happy noises with every new discovery. “Xant, hold out your hand!” The doctor reluctantly did so, and Jasmine placed a small white blob in it. “Smell it!!” she insisted, fever in her eyes. He took a quick and wary sniff, but the burning sensation he expected never came. A fresh and vibrant perfume filled his senses, a sweetness he’d never known. “It's jasmine hand cream! This is what my namesake smells like!” She dotted her entire arms with the cream and rubbed it into her skin. “A moisturizer?” “Yes! And here’s shampoo and conditioner, for hair, moisturizer, face cream, body wash, exfoliant, oh god please, oh please let the water be running!” She dived for the taps to the bath, wrenching the handle as hard and as fast as it would go, but to no avail. “Noooo,” she sobbed, hanging her head. “S’pose it was too good to be true, the water in the tanks would be dry…” Xant curiously looked over the bathtub and jasmine could feel his freq overflowing with curiosity. “So humans clean themselves in still water?” “Well, soaking in the tub is fun, it's not exclusively how we clean ourselves, the shower is better for that.” “So what is the difference between a human shower and our own?” Jasmine pulled a disgruntled face. “It’s the difference between a warm gentle rain and a cold pressure hose!” she exclaimed. “Oh, I wonder if we could get it running again…?” She absent mindedly lifted up a wicker basket, finding a few clothes the previous owners had left behind. “So, what do you think?” she asked, lifting a floral summer dress up over her figure. “The patterns are beautiful, but, is it a cape?” “No, it’s a dress! Hmmm, but I’d have to lose a few kilos for it to fit.” “I beg your pardon?” “Well, I’m a little bit bigger than the supermodel who stayed on this boat, but nothing a few weeks of exercise and diet couldn’t fix. Since there’s no junk food I really don’t have the excuse.” “Are you not already in optimal condition?” “Pfffft! No, god no.” She pulled at her stomach fat playfully. “Too much good food and junk food makes for chunky humans.” “Junk food?” Jasmine grinned ear to ear. “Junk food, food that holds almost no nutritional value but is all about taste, glorious morsels of sugar, salt and colour dye.” “There’s a chance sugar could be found aboard this vessel? We’d need to destroy it if there is any intact, its addictive nature can destroy a Sulins inhibition perminately.” “Well if it’s going to be anywhere on the ship, it’ll be in the kitchen!” They headed down to the bottom decks and stepped into a stainless steel wonderland. Jasmine was in her element, running her hand over the many pieces of specialised equipment as Xant watched on in wonder. They found a perfectly polished kitchen, filled to the brim with human utensils, and all of it for the sole use of producing food. Jasmine lifted a book from the floor and brought it over to Xant. “Here, this is what human food is supposed to look like.” The graphical fidelity of the pictures was phenomenal, given that they weren’t on a computer screen, but the colours and shapes didn’t even seem similar to what he knew as ‘food’. He had seen sculptures that didn’t have dimensions nearly as interesting as those of the consumables depicted, and there was page after page of them, dish after dish, each one a work of art. She showed him the variety of knives on display and the stupid amount of cutlery for eating said food. This was an entire industry to these people, the production and skill devoted to it was… Garish. Jasmine stood before a giant set of doors, her hands hovering over the handles. “This is a refrigerator, we keep perishable goods inside… I wonder if anything is still…” She jerked open the doors and they were both greeted with the foulest stench. The rotting and liquefied remains of meat and vegetables slopped onto the floor. Sealed inside the fridge, the smell had fermented to overpowering levels. “Air!” Jasmine shouted as she scrambled past Xant. “I need air!” They ran up several stairs to escape the toxic gas and were able to breathe a sigh of relief once above deck. They appeared to have come out the other side, more couches and pools littering the area Jasmine made her way across to get to the bow of the ship. She walked to its peak, then climbed over the safety railing to hold the spearhead. Puffing out her chest and throwing her arms open, she proclaimed for the entire engineering wing to hear, “I’M ON A BOAT, I’M ON A BOAT! TAKE A GOOD HARD LOOK AT THE MOTHER FUCKING BOAT!” An echo of uproarious laughter soon followed suit, a joke Xant wasn’t privy to, then Jasmine climbed back to join him. “You know, I think I’m done for the moment. I need a break from all this excitement…” She flopped herself down on one of the sunbeds, and Xant stood over her. “Jasmine, I’ve been meaning to ask...” “Go ahead?” “All of this, it’s wonderful, but it’s nothing like the memory you shared with me. All this is pure opulence. Your memory was far more humble and comforting…” “Well, that’s because this is a superyacht, and not a lower-income one bedroom apartment…” The human shrugged. “So, what measure of wealth allows people to live such drastically different lives?” “... I, dunno know, they're mostly owners of companies, corporations, kings, queens, people who run economies…” “What expertise defines their worth to be that much more than yours?” Xant asked pointedly. Jasmine faltered for an answer. While she could throw around words like investment portfolios and trust funds, she didn't actually understand the system as well as she would have liked. “They study finance, have rich parents, inherited gold mines…luck, I guess? There’s many different ways to get there.” “So, every human has the chance to attain this level of contribution credit?” “No…” “That doesn’t seem fair,” Xant remarked, finally lying down beside her. Jasmine stared up at the steel enclosed ceiling, reflecting. “No it’s not, but it’s getting better,” she replied. “Slowly but surely, it's getting better.”
2021 NFL Mock Draft with explanations for each pick (3 rounds) + Prospect rankings.
Hey everyone. Warning this is a massive post, but im sure that's normal here! Decided to do an early mock and prospect analysis. I operate a 49ers blog and Slack server, and had done this with them, but I decided to share it here. fortheniners.com is my website if you want to check it out for more stuff, but it's mostly 49ers oriented. Give me some feedback, would love to hear it from you guys. I created a custom order based on the rest of the season and i simulated the rest. Some picks might be switched in the 2nd round and 3rd due to the reordering of picks, but mostly it should be OK. I felt this order fit how I think the NFL will shake out by the end of season. I can't get the picks to number for some reason correctly.

3 ROUND MOCK
1st Round
NYJ - Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
Maybe the best QB prospect… ever. Lawrence brings what the Jets have lacked for a very long time. “It”. Lawrence is almost a flawless QB prospect, complete with elite physical tools, mental tools, experience in big games, and the football IQ to be one of the best QBs ever.
JAX - Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
Make no mistake. Justin Fields is not a consolation prize. The Ohio State product is one of the best QB prospects in recent memory as well, with exceptional arm talent, elite ability to make throws on the run, athleticism, leadership, and good decision making. Gifted with a strong arm and a very good deep ball, he will do well on a team that can build around him. He’s also part of the new generation of mobile QBs - Fields is expected to run in the 4.4s.
WAS - Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
Wilson is an interesting prospect. The eye-test shows a mega-talented QB with a knack for big plays, but reading in between the lines, his prospects become murky. Playing against a low level of competition, Wilson has never been truly under pressure from a pass rush during a game. Regardless, Wilson might be the most naturally gifted playmaker in this class - his ability to make throws on the run and extend plays is reminiscent of Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and more, and his arm talent fits that category. One year wonder, sure, but Wilson can be a superstar.
NYG - Gregory Rousseau, DE, Miami
Passing on the best tackle prospect in recent memory is probably a bad idea. Unfortunately, Dave Gettleman has a penchant for that. Rousseau is a very raw albeit extremely talented pass rusher from Miami. Despite being underdeveloped as a pass rusher, his physical gifts alone made him a top pass rusher last season, trailing only Chase Young as the best pass rusher in college. The Giants add another big man to a talented DL, along with Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence. Rousseau is oozing with potential, and with his length, burst, and strength, can become a force that will terrorize the NFC East. Rousseau is going to test very well at the combine as well.
CIN - Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
Joe Burrow is screaming for joy. Sewell is the best OT prospect, arguably since Joe Thomas, or Trent Williams - he has everything. This is almost a cant-miss pick for Cincinatti, and it gives them two young, bookend tackles in Sewell and 2019 1st round pick Jonah Williams to protect the Heisman award winning QB.
DAL - Patrick Surtain Jr, CB, Alabama
Dallas is not as bad as this pick slot indicates, but regardless, they pick due to their injury concerns. Drafting on the defense has to be the priority here, and why not reunite Surtain Jr with his former Alabama teammate, and fellow DB in Trevon Diggs? It fills a need and is arguably the BPA at this spot.
LAC - Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama
While they missed out on Sewell, longtime blindside protector for Justin Herbert, Leatherwood is a great prospect in his own right. A well rounded OL with experience in a tough conference like the SEC, Leatherwood is a stalwart that can start at guard or tackle, giving the Chargers a piece they can put anywhere on the line to protect Herbert, and he is NFL-ready on Day 1.
DET - Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
Passing on Micah Parsons! How? Last time they picked a LB in the first round, it was Jarrad Davis, and they were burned, badly. Instead, they opt for the explosive WR out of Alabama, marking 3 straight picks from Tuscaloosa. Waddle is a game-breaker, stirring up comparisons to Tyreek Hill - and rightfully so. His speed is incredible, and his hands and route running are right up there as well, and he brings rare instincts and elusiveness. Waddle was the best WR in college before getting injured this season. Waddle adds the last piece to the Detroit offense, giving them a great group around Matthew Stafford who is entering the twilight of his career - with Waddle, Golladay, Jones Jr, Swift, and Hockenson, the Lions have the makings of a very good offense.
MIA - Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
Brian Flores would sprint to the podium to pick up Parsons if this was the scenario. The former LB coach grabs one of the most gifted LB prospects in a long time, and he fits the Dolphins at one of their biggest positions of need, with Raekwon McMillan gone. Parsons forms a fearsome LB duo next to Jerome Baker, and brings rare instincts, speed, and physicality to Miami.
DEN - Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas
Denver was hoping that Parsons would fall one more pick, but alas, they have to settle. Cosmi is one of the most physically talented OTs in the draft, and although he is raw, he’s got plenty of ability and potential. John Elway grabs his hopeful franchise LT to protect Drew Lock.
ATL - Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan
One of the fastest risers in the draft, Paye is physically dominant as an EDGE rusher and has the production to back it up. Atlanta could have taken a QB here, but considering that they have Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley both in their primes at the moment, they decide to stick with Matt Ryan - for the short term, instead of spending a massive asset on a rookie QB and waiting on him. Paye can become one of the best DL in the league, and replaces Takkarist McKinley.
MIN - Wyatt Davis, IOL, Ohio State
Another team that could have taken a QB - Minnesota passes on the hometown kid, Lance, in favor for an interior lineman. While QB would be ideal here, Kirk Cousins’ contract is a behemoth, and it does not afford the Vikings a real opportunity to get off that contract - Minnesota would be better off shoring up the rest of their team, and looking for a new QB in the future, while sticking with Cousins short-term.
SF - Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
The Garoppolo era is over - and the new era of Trey Lance begins in San Francisco. Lance is the only QB of the “big four” who exclusively works in a pro-style offense, and under center. His big arm, mobility, and IQ on the football field will be a welcome sight for 49ers fans who have seen none of those under the last couple years with Garoppolo at the helm. Lance, although in a weak conference, has showcased both elite ability as a pocket passer and a runner, with exceptional touch on deep balls. He can stand in the pocket, deliver while taking a hit, and Kyle Shanahan will like all of that. Great decision maker, and he limits turnovers.
NE - Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
Bill Belichick misses out on the last remaining big QB. He instead opts for the premier offensive weapon in the class, Kyle Pitts. Pitts is in the running for the Heisman. As a TE. Yeah. Belichick adds Pitts to a weakened Patriots offense in desperate need for a big weapon like Pitts, and he steps into the 6 foot 6 inch, 265 pound gap left by Rob Gronkowski in Foxborough.
CAR - Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
With Teddy playing very well, Carolina likely opts to reinforce their defense, after doing so already last season. Their offense is all but set, with stars like McCaffrey, DJ Moore, and Curtis Samuel already in the mix - but the biggest problem is the defense. While they could go LB to replace Kuechly, why not provide one more big time player in the secondary. With Donte Jackson, Caleb Farley, Jeremy Chinn, and more, Carolina has the makings of a great defense.
LV - Marvin Wilson, IDL, Florida State
They will go DL and the BPA in that case is FSU’s Marvin Wilson. The big man has been one of the best interior DL in college for a very long time and will continue to do so in Vegas, and provides a physical presence next to Maurice Hurst, Clelin Ferrell, and Maxx Crosby. This is a reach, but the Raiders bet that Wilson can recapture his previous level of play in an NFL program.
CLE - Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama
Moses, physically, is one of the most talented LB prospects in the draft. A thumper at LB, Moses has seen everything coming from the long list of star Alabama LBs in recent years - but there are question marks. Before his ACL injury, Moses was supposed to go top 10, but after, his play level, and instincts have declined and he looks a step slow. Still, Cleveland opts to grab Moses and place him next to Mack Wilson, giving the Cleveland defense the leader and MIKE LB they need and that they had lost in Joe Schobert.
JAX - Pat Friermuth, TE, Penn State
Friermuth has drawn Gronk comparisons as a big, bulky target over the middle with blocking capability and red-zone dominance. While he may never reach that level, this is a no-brainer at 18 - Jacksonville gets Justin Fields his safety blanket for the next 5 years or more, and fills one of their biggest needs on the offensive end of the ball.
PHI - JaMarr Chase, WR, LSU
Philly fans are likely screaming in joy. Arguably the best WR in the draft drops all the way to 19, and right into the lap of Doug Peterson. Carson Wentz finally gets his #1 WR, and it’s a good one. Next to Jalen Reagor, Chase forms a lethal duo and both complement each other perfectly. He has everything a WR needs, and although he is not exceptionally fast, his hands, route running, ball skills, and physicality more than make up for it. He drops partly due to his speed not being amazing and recency bias favoring Jaylen Waddle.
TEN - Jay Tufele, DT, USC
Tufele is a gifted defensive tackle - with good athleticism, technique, and all-around ability, and young as well, he is nowhere near his ceiling both as a pass rusher and run defender. He can be a 3 down player and can start day one, and for a contender like Tennessee, that makes perfect sense. They shore up the DL again, with three pieces set in stone - Harold Landry, Jeffery Simmons, and now, Tufele.
MIA - Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama
With Preston Williams, DeVante Parker, and Jakeem Grant, the Dolphins have a good WR corps. But they need that final piece, the #1 - and Smith is exactly that. Tua gets his favorite target back, as Smith follows in the footsteps of the Alabama route-runners before him in Jerry Jeudy, Calvin Ridley, and Amari Cooper. He is thin, but strong at the same time, showcasing good speed, elite route running, elusiveness, and hands, giving Tua the target he needs.
CHI - Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
The SAVIOR! The Trubisky saga is over, and Nick Foles time is short lived in Chicago as well. Chicago opts for Mac Jones, the signal caller from Alabama. Jones is an experienced QB - but the sample size of him playing well is small. Armed with an elite deep ball, a good arm, and functional mobility, Jones works in a pro-style system and is one of the few QBs that could start Day 1 in the NFL. With great decision making and ability to read the field, while playing tough defenses in the SEC - Jones opens up the entire playbook for Chicago because he can throw to any part of the field. They could take Kyle Trask, but instead opt for the higher ceiling in Mac Jones.
NO - Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
A WR would also be a fit here next to Michael Thomas, but with Mac Jones gone, the Saints opt to add another LB next to the aging DeMario Davis and questionable Kwon Alexander. J.O.K. is a talented LB who can lineup at anywhere from MIKE, to S, to OLB, and do it at a high level. Great in coverage, and can play against TEs and occasionally WRs in the slot. He’s a defensive weapon for Sean Payton.
BUF - Shaun Wade, CB, Ohio State
Tre White gets a partner in crime. Wade falls all the way to 24, where Sean McDermott picks up the best fit at corner for his scheme. Wade is exceptional both in press and in zone, and is an explosive and fast athlete with some swagger when tackling. He can work both outside or in the slot, and while he has some issues against taller and bigger WRs, it’s nothing that cannot be ironed out. The Bills form an elite, top 3 defense with Wade in the fold.
IND - Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
A QB could make sense here, but Trask once again falls as Indianpolis decides to stick with one of the three in Rivers, Brissett, or the Uber-talented rookie in Jacob Eason. Instead, they grab the best safety in the class in Jevon Holland. Holland is a do-it-all safety with great coverage ability, and a lot of range - and he gives the Colts a player they can plug and play at either FS or SS. Malik Hooker simply has not worked out for the Colts due to health reasons, so the Colts grab a long term starter at S.
ARI - Creed Humphrey, IOL, Oklahoma
Kyler Murray gets his old friend from Oklahoma. Humphrey is a plug-and-play center or guard prospect in the NFL and gives Murray some much needed familiarity - and at a big position of need. Arizona’s biggest focus should be protecting Murray, and Humphrey is a strong, technical stalwart in the interior, which is key against the NFC West’s talent like Aaron Donald, Arik Armstead, Nick Bosa, and more.
GB - Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
Aaron Rodgers will riot if this pick is not another weapon. Despite the defensive short comings for the Packers, they have to take WR here - it’s holding back their offense. They opt for Rondale Moore, the explosive WR from Purdue. Moore is a game-changer with the ball in his hands, a YAC machine who will destroy you in the open field. And that is a perfect compliment to Davante Adams, as Moore can lineup anywhere, from RB, to the SLOT, to outside WR. Aaron Rodgers has clearly missed Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb - but Moore brings what Cobb also brought to the table.
BAL - Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
The speed demon in Marquise Brown is already there - but the Ravens need a true #1. Bateman brings a physical, big presence at WR, something Lamar has not had since college, and something he really needs. Bateman’s sure hands, body control, contested catch ability, and explosiveness is exactly what the Ravens need - as the final piece in a juggernaut of an offense being created. With Mark Andrews, JK Dobbins, Marquise Brown, Jackson, and now Bateman in the fold, Jackson’s full ability as a passer can be unleashed and the Ravens offense with that.
TB - Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
When in doubt, take the Bama player. In all seriousness, there are plenty of options the Buccaneers can go with here - but clearly, reinforcing the DL is the most popular way of doing so. Barmore next to Vita Vea gives the Buccaneers a great duo, with Barmore a perfect candidate to play the 3-tech. He’s raw but plenty of growing room.
PIT - Kyle Trask, QB, Florida
Trask finally comes off the board, and to arguably the perfect team. Trask is not ready to start in the NFL day one - but he can be that guy in the future. Although he does not possess an amazing arm, he has all the intangibles, accuracy, and decision making to become the QBOTF in Pittsburgh. Trask’s biggest issue is his footwork - if he can fix that, everything else will fall into place. He possesses the physical attributes to be a star, tall, built strong, and he is fearless in the pocket. The throwing motion is good, but the overall mechanics in combination with the footwork need improvement. Fortunately, he will have time to do so under Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh.
KC - Carlos Basham, DE, Wake Forest
Basically any pick is a luxury pick for Kansas City, but they opt for Basham here. Basham is a sure-thing, he won’t be a superstar, but he will be a very good defensive end. He is strong, big, and possesses both good burst and good technique - and forms a great duo across from Frank Clark.
NYJ - Jackson Carman, OT, Clemson
While they could take Etienne here, instead of the next pick right after, they take Carman first - for the 5th round option. RBs are usually easy to keep, but that 5th year option if Carman pans out will be massive. The Jets grab Trevor Lawrence two familiar faces back to back, in order to appease their new franchise QB, who may not have been enthusiastic to be drafted by NY.
2nd round:
NYJ - Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
Jets grab another familiar face, this time in the best RB in the draft. Lawrence feeling at home. Etienne has incredible speed, acceleration, and is a complete RB, being able to play on 3rd down. The Jets get a dynamic weapon, a stark contrast to the slow and steady Le’Veon Bell.
JAX - Trey Smith, OT/OG, Tennessee
If Justin Fields is going to succeed, the Jaguars need to step it up everywhere. They’ve addressed TE, now they address the OL, with Smith. Rock-solid lineman with versatility, Smith is one of the best pass protectors in the draft.
WAS - Sage Surratt, WR, Wake Forest
First step in Washington with new management in the fold is building a new culture. Support players - and Surratt is squeaky clean off the field with academic awards and more. But really, this is about football - Surratt is a very good possession WR and fits next to McLaurin well, giving Zach Wilson a big target with soft hands and good speed.
NYG - Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan
Passing on Sewell hurts - but Mayfield makes up for it. A very high potential player at OT, Mayfield can play at RT or LT, depending on where the Giants shift the struggling Andrew Thomas. Saquon Barkley breathes a sigh of relief.
CIN - Terence Marshall Jr, WR, LSU
Familiar target? Check. AJ Green is likely out of Cincinnati after this season, and Marshall can perfectly fit in as a height-weight-speed freak with production. Marshall can be the #1 WR in Cincy.
DAL - Caden Sterns, S, Texas
Strengthening this defense is key - and the next step is at safety. Sterns fits the bill as a playmaking coverage safety who can play in man or zone, helping this Cowboys pass defense take the next step.
LAC - Walker Little, OT, Stanford
Two tackles in a row? With a QB like Herbert, you need it. With Trai Turner, Leatherwood, Little, and Lamp on the OL, Herbert will have good protection and for a long time with two new bookend tackles. Little is a great fit at RT, with Leatherwood slotting on the left. Good technique, great size, and great length.
DET - Cameron McGrone, LB, Michigan
Taking the Ann Arbor product, McGrone has sky-high potential as a three down LB with sideline to sideline speed. Detroit gets the chosen one at their biggest need.
MIA - Quincy Roche, DE, Miami
Besides the Miami connection, this is a no-brainer. Roche drops to the 2nd, where Brian Flores picks him up to reinforce a pass rush in need of a speedy, bendy edge rusher like Roche. Big time pick up, as Miami is nailing the draft.
DEN - Jaylen Twyman, DT, Pittsburgh
Von Miller and Jurrell Casey should return next season, giving the Broncos a fearsome trio combined with Bradley Chubb. Twyman is the final piece and gives them a longterm solution. An explosive, undersized DL, Twyman is already an elite pass rusher on the interior with room to grow.
ATL - Tyler Shelvin, DT, LSU
Narrowly missing on Twyman, they settle for Shelvin, the behemoth DT from LSU - a great fit next to Grady Jarrett, Dante Fowler, and now Kwity Paye. Shelvin can swallow up double teams.
JAX - Paris Ford, S, Pittsburgh
Fields is in the fold, but that does not mean Jacksonville ignores the defense. They get a good safety in Paris Ford, a guy who is always around the ball. With Josh Allen, Chaisson, Myles Jack, CJ Henderson, and now Ford, they have high potential guys on every level of the ball.
SF - Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State
Dee Ford is likely gone… so the 49ers need a speed rusher, an athletic one for DL coach Kris Kocurek to mold. While very raw, Oweh is a physical freak with speed, a quick first step, strength, and bend. He is not a finished product, and will be limited to pass rush duties in his first years, but once he develops, watch out.
NE - Joseph Ossai, EDGE/LB, Texas
Bill Belichick runs to the podium for this pick. Home run for NE, as they grab the perfect player they need at LB and the DL - someone who can fill the position that Jamie Collins left years ago. Ossai is very raw but Bill Belichick will savor getting a LB that he can mold in whatever way he wants for his defense. This is a perfect fit.
CAR - Jabril Cox, LB, LSU
A smart, fast and instinctive LB, Cox will not replace Luke Kuechly, but he can help. Next to Shaq Thompson, the Panthers have filled a lot of their holes already - and it’s still the 2nd round.
LV - Andre Cisco, S, Syracuse
Cisco gives the Raiders a nice, young, and talented safety duo in their secondary with Abram as well. Raiders continue to strengthen the defense. Cisco is coming off a torn ACL but is talented and was a 1st round prospect, arguably, until his injury.
CLE - Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, USC
Odell Beckham Jr is likely done - and either way, Baker Mayfield needs a new target, preferable one that can play in the slot or outside. St. Brown has great hands, great route running, and good speed. Cleveland has a big need at EDGE, but they opt to get their young QB one more target in hopes of a breakout season.
LAR - Josh Myers, OG, Ohio State
They could take a LB here, but Myers dropping this low is a no-brainer. The Rams add another athletic and polished OL. Myers is a good fit for the zone scheme that Sean McVay runs, and fill one of their most pressing needs. Jared Goff is not Jared Goff under pressure - this is the way to keep this offense chugging… investing in the OL, especially in the brutal NFC West.
PHI - Hamsah Nasirlideen, LB/S, Florida State
Perfect fit. Nasirlideen can play at safety or LB, and is physically incredible. Knack for forcing turnovers and he is a sure tackler, and although he has some coverage issues, he is still good vs. TEs and slot WRs at times. Philly gets a tone-setter at LB, their biggest need, or at S, arguably the 2nd biggest need.
TEN - Deonte Brown, OG, Alabama
The battle is won in the trenches. The Titans don’t have many needs, but strengthening the OL is always a good idea.
MIA - Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota
Miami is nailing the draft. Faalele is the most physically impressive prospect in this class, with great athleticism despite being 6 foot 9 inches and nearly 400 pounds. He’s a freak, and a perfect candidate to play at RT and protect Tua Tagovailoa’s blind side. Tua is very happy right now!
CHI - Alijah Vera-Tucker, OG, USC
Grabbing another athletic, and technically sound OL - Vera-Tucker fits Chicago’s needs well, especially with long-time starter Kyle Long retired.
NO - Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
New Orleans needs a true #2 WR next to Michael Thomas, and Emmanuel Sanders is the short-term for that. Toney is the long-term solution. Explosive YAC threat, Toney is a perfect fit in the West Coast offense that Sean Payton runs, and is seemingly uncatchable in the open field - and he comes with versatility, as a former QB; we know Sean Payton likes that.
BUF - Patrick Jones II, DE, Pittsburgh
The Bills need more from their DL to take their defense to the next level. Jerry Hughes is already 32, and by taking Jones, an explosive pass rusher with good technique and great size. Across from AJ Epenesa, Buffalo has two good EDGE rushers to anchor a DL and give Ed Oliver some help.
IND - Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Michigan
He does not have very much burst or an elite first step, but Hutchinson’s pursuit ability, motor, and strength are up there with the best. He’s inexperienced but he has a good assortment of pass rush moves, and offers versatility too - he is 280 pounds. IND gets a guy that they can play 3-4 DE, 4-3 DE, the three tech, or even 3-4 OLB if needed.
ARI - Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia
Crazy talented athlete, Campbell is raw but he has a ton of potential. Great hips, great recovery speed, and he can run with anyone. Good size, he’s a player that can play in most if not all schemes, with the ability to play bump and run, press, zone, or man.
GB - Brevin Jordan, TE, Miami
Adding two explosive weapons to an offense that already had Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams is stupid. That’s exactly what happens here - Green Bay grabs their TE of the future, in Jordan. Jordan is a gifted athlete with a lot of speed and explosiveness, built in the molds of the new wave of TEs like George Kittle, Noah Fant, and more. Green Bay now has weapons everywhere and are poised for the short-term with Rodgers, and the long term with Love.
BAL - Chazz Surratt, LB, North Carolina
They took Patrick Queen last year, but they still need one more guy on that defense. While they have a pressing need at safety, Surratt’s potential is too much to pass up. Super talented with instincts, Surratt is a former QB and inexperienced, yet he has shown massive ability. High character and the leader the Ravens need on defense.
TB - Alec Lindstrom, OG, Boston College
Always pick the OL when unsure. Lindstrom is polished and although he does not possess a high ceiling, he should be a good starter in the NFL for a long time. Protect Brady.
PIT - Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
Joe Haden is aging and Pittsburgh needs a boost of youth in the secondary to match Minkah Fitzpatrick. Horn has been one of the breakout stars this college season, and it’s a wonder he even dropped this far.
KC - Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
LDT’s status is unclear beyond this season, and besides, the Chiefs have needed a boost in the OL for a while. This is a trend - contending teams without weaknesses will almost always opt to strengthen the trenches.
SEA - Joe Tryon, DE, Washington
Tryon is far from a finished product but would represent the most hope Seattle has had at pass rush in a very long time. He is big, lengthy, has good burst, and good hand placement, and has a very high ceiling. The UW product stays in Seattle.
3rd round:
NYJ - Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia
If the CB class was not so stacked this year, Stokes would have had a shot to go in the 1st. Either way, the Jets grab a talented, twitchy corner from Georgia with a knack for forcing turnovers. Stokes can be a #1 CB if developed correctly. Great in press coverage especially.
JAX - Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
Justin Fields’ favorite target joins him in Jacksonville. He is really polished in everything a WR needs - great route runner, great hands, and he can contort his body to make some tough catches. He is limited physically, that frame is not going to be able to take an NFL season. He is going to have to bulk up, but Fields gets a classic #2 WR who can play in the slot or outside.
WAS - Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
Scheme-versatile, athletic, physical. He checks most boxes - he needs work on his technique, specifically when he comes out of his stance, but moving him to guard would eliminate that need. He can anchor himself well too.
NYG - Seth Williams, WR, Auburn
Prototypical X WR that fits well next to Darius Slayton. Williams cannot separate much, but with his hands and body control, is a great possession WR who will consistently make contested catches. Red-zone threat with upside.
CIN - Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia
Two-down run defender with upside. He’s got a lot of athleticism and improving technique, but outside of the run-game, he can’t do much right now. Good fit, both for Cincinnati’s needs and also scheme.
DAL - Derion Kendrick, CB, Clemson
Weird prospect. He switched from WR to CB in college, so he is still clearly learning the nuances of being a corner, but you can see what he can be vs. what he is now. Kendrick is not going to wow anyone for a while, but if Dallas can develop him right, he can be very good. Very much a long-term pickup.
LAC - Asante Samuel Jr, CB, Florida State
He is really good with the play in front of him, classic slot corner. Good acceleration and he is a good tackler. He’s scheme-versatile, and with good hips, he can play off-man and press if needed. Good and easy replacement for Desmond King in the slot for the Chargers, especially with the aging Chris Harris. Samuel can get bullied by bigger WRs so DCs need to be careful with matchups, at least til he can get stronger.
DET - Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
Quandre Diggs being traded last season left a gaping hole in their secondary. Moehrig is a very good centerfield type safety with ball hawking ability and really good instincts. He’s got issues tackling, but most deep safeties have the same issues. Big time potential.
HOU - Alaric Jackson, OG, Iowa
Protecting DeShaun Watson needs to be the goal - Jackson is a good fit for Houston. Strong with good athleticism, Jackson has played at tackle for a long time at Iowa, but his flexibility and length limit him. He will move to guard - but that’s exactly what Houston needs.
DEN - Monty Rice, LB, Georgia
A tough inside LB with good closing speed and size, Rice is a good candidate as a WILL LB with coverage skills as well. He is a step late on some plays while diagnosing - which along with his size prevents him from playing at midde linebacker.
ATL - D’Eriq King, QB, Miami
Surprise! Well, not really. I expect Atlanta to hire a modern OC, and that means a modern QB is needed. King fits the bill as a dual-threat QB with a great arm. I really like his feel for the game, his arm talent, his improving accuracy, and anticipation, and the natural ability to extend plays and make throws on the run or scramble is great too. King may be undersized, but he makes up for it with his elusiveness and build. Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson succeeded, King can as well. Why not pick Trey Lance in the 1st? No matter what, the QB they pick will be a project. It would be better to invest in other positions early, and still grab the QB of the future late. He’s not Quinton Flowers, or JT Barrett - he’s much more. Great anticipation, strong arm, and he makes plays.
MIN - Azeez Ojulari, DE, Georgia
Really good bend and speed off the EDGE. He is another raw EDGE rusher, which is plentiful in this draft - but Minnesota needs a guy they can develop, just as they did with Danielle Hunter.
WAS - Grant Calcaterra, TE, Oklahoma
Weapons, weapons, weapons. Wilson needs all he can get, and now he has two talented WRs in Surratt and McLaurin, and Calcaterra joins that group. There are massive injury concerns with Calcaterra - he retired due to concussions and then returned earlier this season - but when he was healthy, he was considered a top TE in College Football. This is very much a bet for Washington, but it could pay off massive dividends.
NE - VOIDED by NFL CAR - Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
NFL-ready frame and he’s got really good length. He can hold his own against most pass rushers, speed or power. Athleticism is average though - he is better off in a power-scheme more than anything else.
LV - Cade Mays, OG, Tennessee
Nasty and strong, especially in the run game. Jon Gruden will love this guy, but he needs to get more disciplined especially with his footwork and stance - when he maintains his leverage, he is elite. Needs to get more polished but the potential is there.
CLE - Richard LeCounte III, S, Georgia
Size is an issue with LeCounte, but his ball skills and instincts are great, as is his football IQ. He will be able to start Day One in the NFL - and with Grant Delpit at SS, LeCounte is a nice pairing at FS. Browns strengthen the defense again.
LAR - Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri
Rams biggest need is probably LB - but they wait til the 3rd to grab one. Bolton is a monster in the run-game, super hard hitter and he’s got good instincts to guess the gap and go. He’s limited in the passing game, but once again - he’s got plenty of time and potential to iron that out. Better in zone, as most LBs are.
PHI - Kary Vincent Jr, CB, LSU
Really good slot corner. Super twitchy with really quick feet - he can mirror anyone in the slot. The problem is with his size - but in general, this guy can play. He needs work on his tackling and hand fighting at the line but as a man-coverage type, Philly can’t get much better at this point in the draft.
TEN - Hunter Long, TE, Boston College
He’s just good at everything. Not a game-changing playmaker at TE, but he gets the job done and can do anything asked of a TE. Tennessee will love his blocking and good athleticism.
MIA - Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
As if Miami wasn’t already nailing this draft, this puts the cherry on top. Harris in the 3rd is incredible value - he’s physical, fast, elusive, and does everything a RB is supposed to do. Every-down RB. TD machine and he will always fall forward - he’s the alpha they need at RB, and a good compliment to Myles Gaskin. Another familiar face for Tua Tagovailoa.
CHI - Anthony Schwartz, WR, Auburn
The Bears need that extra #2 WR, Schwartz brings exactly that. Anthony Miller is better off in the slot, and while Allen Robinson is awesome, both Miller and Robinson cannot take the top off a defense like Schwartz can. He’s dangerous with the ball in his hands and is still improving. His frame is very flimsy however, and he’s got some issues blocking - but you can see his role in Matt Nagy’s offense.
CLE - Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington
They need a space eater next to Myles Garrett. Onwuzurike brings that and more to the table.
BUF - Dazz Newsome, WR, North Carolina
Gabriel Davis and Stefan Diggs are great, but Buffalo lacks a threat at slot WR - John Brown and Cole Beasley are again. Newsome is explosive, lightning quick, and has very good route running and elusiveness in the open field.
IND - Shaka Toney, DE, Penn State
Another DE? Justin Houston is aging, and if Indianapolis wants to keep building their defense, this is necessary to give DeForest Buckner some help. Toney is not ready to be an every-down player, but as most Penn State products are - he is gifted as an athlete. He’s got plenty of potential as a pass rusher.
ARI - Darius Stills, DT, West Virginia
There are questions about his run defense and is not disciplined as a DT should be. He more than makes up for it with his disruptiveness as a pass rusher. Rare get-off for a DT, and his size lends hm and advantage because he is so powerful and fast with good leverage.
GB - Jack Sanborn, LB, Wisconsin
Hard hitter with ball production tends to work out in the NFL. He’s a fine athlete and is a quick diagnosed of plays, and while his run defense is great, his coverage skills are better. Not often does a LB log multiple interceptions in one season, but Sanborn did just that. Do-it-all LB for the Packers, although he has some limitations.
MIN - Marquez Stevenson, WR, Houston
Versatile weapon with a ton of speed and elusiveness. The production matches the skillset, and he brings the presence the Vikings need next to Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen for the next couple of years.
TB - Kolby Harvell-Peel, S, Oklahoma State
He isn’t much of a coverage safety, but Harvell-Peel is a fantastic run defender and tackler at safety. He’s not a liability, but he is not someone you want covering the back-end on third down either way. Harvell-Peel gives Bruce Arians a piece that he can shift anywhere, from LB to SS to slot CB if necessary, and he can get physical in the trenches and hold his own.
PIT - Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State
Ruckert is a smooth athlete at TE and a very good blocker too. Despite not having much opportunity at OSU, Ruckert made the most of it - he’s got great hands as well. Pittsburgh grabs the future safety blanket for Kyle Trask… and forms a duo with Eric Ebron.
KC - Paulson Adebo, CB, Stanford
Reinforcing this defense again. Adebo is a good zone and press corner. He’s got limitations, but he’s still developing and could be very good in the future.
NYJ - Justyn Ross, WR, Clemson
If you ain’t noticed a trend by now, I don’t know what to say. But really, the Jets know that they aren’t exactly enticing for Lawrence. Making it feel like home for him is very important, both for his development and also for the future. They’ve alienated their defensive savant in Jamal Adams, they can’t have this happen again. Ross is mega-talented, but his neck injury last season caused him to drop from a 1st round prospect to a late 3rd prospect. Regardless, if the Jets can get Denzel Mims, Justyn Ross, Travis Etienne, plus two bookend tackles in Mekhi Becton and Jackson Carman - Trevor Lawrence has something he can work with. Ross is a prototypical #1 WR, with height-weight-speed measurements perfect and the production to back it up.
Shattered Helix - 1.16 - You Get A Promotion! And You, And You
[ First ] - [ Previous ] - [ Next ] [ Read on RoyalRoad.com ] ~ 1.16 - You Get A Promotion! And You, And You ~ Noto’s Adventurers’ Guild 2nd Darkday of The Full Moon The three players, Flea, Khorwin, and Martina, were informed of their promotion to rank Tin division one, skipping past any Copper divisions they still had. Niseph was given Tin upon joining, a perk of the Golden Chit. “The Dryad hasn’t been allowed to rejoin the Adventurers’ Guild since our race lost in The Games eons ago. The Golden Chit has given me the ability to respawn and rank. You have no idea how much this means to my race and I; Flea, Khorwin, and Martina. This is our first step for the Dryad to have a chance to return to The Games.” “I have heard NPC’s say ‘The Games’ multiple times now. What are these games, Niseph?” Martina asked. “You are new to Mea. You newcomers will find out in time. I am not permitted to speak of them to you at this time.” Fenix returned minutes later with their goods. Giving Niseph her magic bag, the Feline then handed each of them an ornate tin box. The receptionist requested their tags and left again to update them to their new ranks. Opening his box, Flea found a sizable purple cloth sack and a large purple, hexagon-shaped coin with a hole at its center. Opening the bag, Flea guessed it held around a hundred cores. Putting them in his magic bag confirmed it to be 100 Clear Cores. Upon returning, Fenix handed each of them their brand new Tin tags. Finished, Fenix asked each of them to soulbind their new tags. Upon dropping his blood on the new greenish colored tags, a prompt asked the Gnome if he wished to change his rank. Accepting the prompt, a second informed the Gnome his Copper tags have been destroyed. Martina held up the purple coin and asked Fenix about it. The receptionist informed the group it was a token given to adventurers upon reaching Tin rank. The token could be turned into any Adventurers’ Guild for their choice of available Skill Cores from their vault. This Skill Core would be the first most adventurers would be able to get their hands on. Fenix continued to explain once they used their cores and leveled up, they should be over level 10, opening their first Mana Gate. Once they’ve achieved this feat, the three of them should return to the hall to turn in their tokens. “Thank... Thank you!” Khorwin started hopping up and down, cheering. Flea waited for Fenix to help Niseph soulbind her magic bag before speaking to the Feline. “Could you explain to us what Mana Gates are, Fenix? I’ve been told some by Sveny, but would like to hear some more.” “Sure, Flea. Mana Gates are pockets created by the mana channels within every living creature. When the body has developed to a certain degree, the channels expand and spread farther throughout the body. When these channels reach specific anatomic points, they develop a type of bubble or shell within that location. We call these spaces; Mana Gates. The body can then absorb a Skill Core and imprint that skill inside the bubble where the body then adapts to use that skill. I believe there are more to these Mana Gates, but most scholars could debate that for eons.” “Thank you for that knowledge, Fenix.” Flea said. “So guys. everyone back to their inns and level up?” Martina asked. “Yep, leveling up and getting my first skill is on the top of my list,” Flea replied. “Martina, thanks again for rushing to help us. I think the promotion chits were rewarded for surviving that Abomination and bringing the news back to town. I wouldn’t be surprised if this questline gets more interesting tomorrow and with even better rewards,” Khorwin said. “I should thank you guys. I was farming ore for money. After today, I doubt I’m going to have much of that issue. I’ll see you guys back here tonight to organize our groups.” “Alright, see you guys later tonight,” Flea said. Minutes later, as Fenix was finishing up writing his report, he suddenly dropped his quill. Turning around to speak to the group again, he found them gone. Running out the doors and into the street, he found the group to be long gone. He cursed into the air and turned around. The Beastman flattened his ears as he walked back into the hall and spoke in a whisper. “I’m so getting in trouble for this tomorrow.” Flea and Niseph walked to The Drunken Ogre together after leaving the other two at the town square. Reaching the inn, they were greeted by a large group of people asking them questions. They tried to explain what was going on, answering their questions as best as they could. Niseph was asked to cover her chest by a few women, to the men’s protests, causing her to get frustrated enough that she left Flea and stomped up to his room. Excusing himself, the Gnome followed her up and unlocked the door for her. The Dryad jumped onto the bed and poured a couple of marbles onto her hand. “How do I use these?” Niseph asked, raising them in her hand. “Hold one in the palm of your hand, and just crush them. It’s easy once you’ve done it once. Crush all of yours first, then choose the attributes you wish to level.” “How do I see these attributes?” “Oh, I’m sorry. After you’ve crushed them all, think or say ‘status.’” “Thank you. I was born after the fall of the Dryads, so I’ve never been able to level, please excuse my lack of knowledge.” “Don’t worry about it. You should lay on the bed before you level. You’re going to get knocked out as soon as you accept the changes.” Niseph nodded and laid back onto the bed, taking out the cores one at a time and crushing them. Flea decided to do the same and sat next to the Dryad. Absorbed 100 Clear Cores Absorbed 21 Cloudy Cores + 2066 Energy Holy shit, that’s an average of 19.4 Energy per Clear Core. Pulling up his Status screen, Flea took a look at his current status.

Magic Bag 🛈
➕ [75]
Flea found he could only level his attributes to 10. This forced him to spend points on Wisdom and Intelligence. Maxing the four remaining attributes to 10 cost him 1603 Energy. He couldn’t put any more points into his attributes, so he decided to finish. Mentally accepting his choices, Flea heard Niseph let out a scream, startling him. Seconds later, Flea let out his own scream before the darkness of sleep took him. Opening his eyes, Flea immediately noticed the stench in the room. It was by far the foulest thing he had ever remembered smelling. The Gnome immediately noticed he had difficulty moving his body and it felt like he was lying in something wet. Looking down at himself, then over at the still sleeping Nispeh, he could see a pitch-black, tar-like substance all over the both of them. The last thing he noticed was they were not alone in the room. Dross was standing over them, seemingly very pissed off. “Who the hell ascends in a place of business? I had to close my damn inn down due to the stench. As soon as she awakes, both of you get down to the bathhouse and scrub yourselves like your lives depend on it. Leave all of your clothes and armor in the burlap bag inside the bathhouse. They’re going to be burned.” “What? I just bought these! Their soul bound, can’t we just clean whatever this is off of them?” “No can do. That smelly as hell shit was a part of you. So even if I killed you right here, you’d spawn with it still on your clothes. Didn’t the receptionist at the Adventurers’ Guild warn you two what would happen when you hit level 10?” “No, they didn’t. The Guild just gave us our Tin ranked rewards, and we left.” “Tin rank? How?! This island shouldn’t have anywhere near enough Tin quests to promote anyone before you lot leave for the mainland.” “Flea explained everything again to Dross.” “Damnit, I’ll forgive you for the loss of business. This is bad news, indeed. I must let my family know what’s going on. It looks like your Dryad is stirring. Take her down to the bathhouse now, please. I’ll burn the blanket and bedsheets with your clothes. I just hope it didn’t get into the mattress.” “How will you break the soul bind on the armor?” “We’ll take care of that after. You bathe now, please go already. It’s killing me slowly to just stand here. It’s even worse for my wife and child.” With Niseph awake now, Flea explained what was going on. The Gnome had her follow him to the bathhouse. He found the burlap bag quickly enough and a bar of soap with it. Flea assumed it was to clean off whatever the black junk was on his body. Cleaning himself took hours. For every part of his body, Flea had to scrub, scrape, then scrub some more. Once he was satisfied with the results, the Gnome sank into the bath and relaxed. He was rudely disturbed not long after by Dross, yelling for them to hurry up. Walking outside with a robe around himself, he found Dross, Niseph and an Elf he hadn’t met before. “Flea, this is Elder Nyana. She will break the soulbinding on your armor for you. Please hand her the bag.” “You’re the third stop for me today. Two other adventurers broke through as well. Elder Whoden is going to get a damn earful from a lot of people, I suspect. Not warning those close to ascending about the issues of such a feat.” “Excuse me, Elder, but what changes? What was that black stuff we woke up in?” “You both now have your Mortal Bodies. You can now absorb Energy through meditation and unlock your first Mana Gate, allowing you to absorb your first Skill Core. Normally adventures reach this point before being promoted to Tin, but with what’s going on around here, the fault may therein lie with the two Elders not informing you of what would happen to your bodies. As for the black substance you awoke with inside. Well, that was what your body expelled out. It was all of your impurities and any diseased body tissue,” The Elder explained. The realism this game is going for is on such another level than anything before it. Flea handed the bag over to the Elder. A moment later, he got a notification pop up in his vision. Elder Nyana wishes to break the soulbinding on five items. Do you give permission? [Yes] [No] Flea mentally selected yes before he could regret it. The Elder closed her eyes and concentrated. Moments later, the bag lit up like a light bulb. “It is done.” “Good,” Dross said as he took the bag and threw it on the bonfire he had behind the bathhouse. Walking back to the group, Dross handed Flea a key. “New room, first on the right, on the second floor. Your old room is going to take a while to get the smell fully out. I’ve already moved your things.” “Thank you again, Dross.” Getting into the new room, he found it more spacious, with a larger bed and a dresser against the sidewall. The room also had the same size desk and chair as the last room. I think Dross has misunderstood some things. [Congratulations are in order, Kyle. You three are the first players to achieve level 10. The news is already spreading amongst the other players. Your names have not been made public due to our privacy settings. I would suggest you and your friends do not make it known. Many players wish you three harm now.] “Thank you, Bob. I will speak to them about it.” “Who is Bob?” Niseph asked. “Oh, I’m not sure how to explain. Bob’s from my world and lives in my head, like a type of magic helper.” Niseph shook her head. “Can we go visit Granny? We should also get you new armor, and maybe something to cover my chest up. If I’m to join your group, I should be less distracting to your kind.” “Sounds good to me. I’ll need to stop at the smith first to sell the ore from last night.” After Flea changed into his starter clothes, they left the inn and headed over to the west side of town, stopping at Krom’s shop first. Flea offloaded his iron and silver ore to Krom, making over 11 silver for the lot. The Gnome and Dryad then headed over to Sveny’s shop, so Flea could buy another set of quill armor and something to cover up Niseph. Entering the shop, they found a hive of activity. People were in almost every part of the place looking through the shop’s wares. There was already a line of people at the counter waiting for Sveny and his assistant to help them out. It didn’t take long for the players to notice Niseph and start whistling and catcalling. All their attempts seem to breeze right past her, as if she hadn’t a care in the world. Getting in line, Flea told Nispeh to go find any armor she needed. While the Dryad browsed the wears, she ignored any attempt by the players to get her attention. Flea stood in line, trying not to look at the ass in front or crouch behind him at his eye level. I really hate waiting in lines. Niseph didn’t take long to come back with a dark green leather corset and leather pants laced up at the sides, in her size. She also found a set of simple leather bracers. It took the two almost twenty minutes to get up to the counter to be assisted. “Welcome back Flea, what can I assist you with today?” Sveny said. “Hello again, I need a new set of quill armor dyed black. I also need to buy this corset, bracers, and pants for her.” Flea pointed to Niseph. “Of course, what happened to your old set?” “We hit mortal rank without anyone telling us what happens.” “Oh my. Terrible ordeal all around, even if you planned ahead. I still have your measurements here, so I can have it crafted by tonight for you. Would you like it delivered somewhere for your convenience?” “That would be amazing, Sveny. I also have these large terrorbear quills to sell as well.” “Where did you get these? These are the largest quills I’ve ever seen.” “Took them off an Abomination last night. How much would you buy them for? I can get you more tomorrow. If you haven’t heard yet, we are going into the mountain to kill the rest of them.” “Yes, I’ve heard the news. I’d be willing to give you 50 copper for that quill. Do you have any more?” “I have nineteen more, and I also have these scales from the Abomination as well.” “Show me!” Flea took out one of the Abomination’s scales and handed it to Sveny. “I’ll give you a silver each, how many do you have? I could make the best armor I’ve ever crafted with these. Take a look at this.” Sveny pulled out a dagger from his belt. He placed a scale on the counter and then set the dagger’s point against its flat surface. Grabbing a mallet from under the counter, the Elf drove the butt of the dagger down. Removing the blade, Flea could barely see a dimple on the scale’s surface. “If I can get my hands on maybe thirty of these, I could make an entire set.” “If I bring you more of them, could you craft me a set with them?” “Bring me forty scales, and I’ll make it for free.” “Ok, I’ll sell you the twenty quills I have. I need the quill armor tonight, and her pieces as well. What’s my total? Sveny stared into the air, moving his fingers like he was manipulating an abacus, “Ten silver for the quills. I’ll do 34 silver for your dyed armor and delivery. Her pieces are 27 silver. You owe me 51 silver.” Flea thanked and paid Sveny. Turning to Nispeh, he could see she was already wearing her corset and was sitting on a box lacing the first side of her pants up. Waiting for her to finish, they walked out of Sveny’s and headed towards Sue’s Bakery. “Niseph!!” Granny Sue screamed. The older woman darted from behind the counter, rushed up and hugged the beaming Dryad. “Oh, it’s lovely to see you again, Granny. I enjoyed the candies you gave Flea. I missed them dearly.” “Oh, Princess, that pleases me to hear. Why are you wearing leathers? Oh My! Is that a magic bag? How have you become an adventurer? Does your mother know of this?” Niseph giggled and placed a hand over her mouth. “Everything is happening too fast. I have not yet left the town to inform my mother of the change. Elder Loratoris had seen fit to give me the town’s Golden Chit and the opportunity to join The Guild.” “Your mother is going to be so happy to hear that there is a chance for the Dryad again.” Around this time, the crowd started to get a bit impatient on waiting. “I need to help everyone right fast sweety, give me a few minutes.” Granny Sue gave a discount to all who waited, pleasing everyone. Once the crowd cleared, she went into the back and returned with a large brown bag. “Here Niseph, put this in your magic bag and don’t show it to your sisters.” Taking the brown bag from Granny and opening it, she found it full of the pink rosewater flavored candies she loved. “Thank you so much, Granny! I’ll make sure to give mother some as well.” The trio talked a bit longer before Flea finally suggested it was time to go. They still needed to walk back to the forest and inform the Dryad Queen of the Elder’s plans. Flea and Nispeh dropped by the Adventurers’ Guild to tell them the duo would be back before sunset to set up their group of adventurers.
[REVIEW] “Anong pabango yan, Mars?”: Local indie perfume reviews (Daniela Calumba, Pete & Alia, etc.)
💃🏻 WARNING, long post ahead! 💃🏻 ⚠️ 12/1/20: Added updates on SBP’s Eclat de Fruits and Pete and Alia’s longevity report. ⚠️ Hello! I’ve been meaning to write reviews of local perfume brands that I’ve tried from the past year to recent releases. I’ll try to be concise with my reviews as they’re a lot. I’m also typing this on my phone, so any faults in grammaformatting I’ll try to fix later. Disclaimer: I’m a novice when it comes to perfumes, let alone reviewing them. Perfumes will smell different from person to person. Most notes listed don’t make sense to me as I’ve never encountered them yet irl, but in a process of elimination through my collection I can somewhat pinpoint a few of them. I’ll mostly describe them what category of scent they are (fresh, gourmand, spicy, fruity, etc.) and what vibe they give off to me, so please bear with me if some of these don’t make sense! Also I’m reviewing ORIGINAL perfume blends, so these are not inspired perfumes. Some of these do resemble existing commercial ones, but otherwise aren’t stated as inspired from the brands themselves. Some of these I’ve also mentioned in previous threads, but I decided to include them here because of changed views, etc. My preferences: I’m putting this here as reference in case our tastes differ, as what I think smells great may smell awful to another and vice versa. I love gourmands (especially with vanilla, chocolate, and coffee), powdery scents, white florals, irises, musks, moss, woods, certain fruits (specifically oranges and mangoes), and resins. I’m neutral to incense, most fruits, herbs, spices, and most florals. I dislike shampoo/laundry scents, and musks/incenses that smell too musty. There are some exceptions, and tastes will change over time. 🌻 Daniela Calumba 🌻 Where you can buy them: ig: danielacalumba Scent/s: Honeysuckle + Oakmoss (5ml full size), Benjamin, Ravensara, Saltwater, Oud Nectar (0.5ml samples) Price: Updated prices are P1800 for FS and P1100 for 5 samples General verdict: All of her perfumes last about 3-4 hours on me. These are all roll-ons, so they stick very close to the skin and don’t project far unless you stand really close. Overall I love her unique takes of natural perfumes except Saltwater, and some of them are going to be part of my permanent collection. Daniela is also very kind during transactions, which is a plus. Honeysuckle + Oakmoss - ”Fragrant notes: absolutes of honeysuckle and oakmoss, mitti attar, ho wood. Character: sweet narcotic, luxurious, luscious, sophisticated.”
Sweet, but not like sugar or candy. Like aged honey, boozy but it won’t make you smell like a drunk. The sweetness of honeysuckle and the wet, bitter note of oakmoss make such a unique and lovely scent, it’s almost atmospheric. This is my favorite out of all of Daniela’s perfumes, and I am so glad I took a gamble to get this in full size. Verdict: 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 LOVE! Hopefully she allows custom orders to have this in a bigger size because I truly love this perfume. Vibe: drinking alcohol with friends in a rented house at Batangas, chilly night air bring about the scent of planted honeysuckles, petrichor setting in after the last days of summer.
On me, the resin and the calamansi, as subtle as they are, make a very interesting combination to create a unique form of musk. I couldn’t smell the vanilla extract, which surprised me since my skin usually amps up vanilla notes. It aaaaalmost has that same boozy note as Honeysuckle, but it’s mostly musk with a slight tang to it. Verdict: 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 Love. Will get a fullsize. Vibe: saturday morning, lying on the grass at Salcedo park after jogging across Ayala. Home-brewed citrus drinks and kombuchas sold at Salcedo Market beckons you to quench your thirst.
Ravensara almost has the same dna as Benjamin, the difference is that the musk takes a backseat and florals take center stage, but it’s not heavy floral at all, in fact there’s almost something citrusy somewhere that gives the floral notes a lightness to it. It almost has that petrichor-note to it like Honeysuckle, but not so much that it overpowers the florals. Verdict: 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 Love. Perfect for lazy weekends. Vibe: after resting and drinking kombucha from Salcedo Market, you browse through the flower shops being sold there, the signs of incoming drizzle about to form.
Saltwater - ”Fragrant notes: onycha, cade, jasmine concrete, black pepper, pomelo peel Character: slightly musky and floral, animalic, alchemical, warm and bright, shimmering, romantic, like saltwater clean skin, lingering.”
This is the first from her perfumes I don’t like, and either I’m not experienced enough to truly appreciate it, or my skin chemistry has something to do with it, but it doesn’t smell fragrant to me at all, even after almost a month of testing it hasn’t changed on me 😢. It reminds me of a certain smell, but I don’t know what. Closest I can think of are mothballs. I suspect it’s the combination of onycha, cade and black pepper. I’m sad that this doesn’t work on me at all, as the image of saltwater skin was enticing to me. If anyone owns this and likes it, please share your thoughts! I’d love to know how you perceive this scent. Verdict: 🌻 NOPE. My skin hates it, sorry! Vibe: decluttering years-old clothes and finding they’ve been eaten by bugs. The regret that comes after of not recovering them sooner.
This smells like that one fancy perfumed soap we got from balkbayan packages, but more natural, earthy. This is what I think vintage perfumes smell like, the saffron and gardenia create a strong floral fragrance without being sharp that most floral-heavy perfumes have, which I think the earthy note tones it down. Verdict: 🌻🌻🌻🌻 Like! Though I’m still reconsidering in getting a full size. Vibe: visiting your free-spirited tita who’s staying in her condo in the Philippines for a short while before going back out to the world for another adventure. Various flowers from her latest venture are meticulously placed in a glass vase while you browse through her vast collection of perfumes from different origins. (Highkey lowkey I want to be that tita hahaha)
🍄 Radioactive Mushrooms In The Forest 🍄 Where you can buy them: Her website, though it seems it’s under maintenance atm. Personally I bought this in a bazaar at Makati. Scent/s: Promise Ring Price: I cannot for the life of me remember, but it’s somewhere around P600-700 General verdict: They have a similar vibe as Daniela Calumba’s perfumes. This last 6 hours on me. Promise Ring- ”Like a warm hug under a cozy blanket on a rainy day. Chamomile, lavender, rose, vanilla. Mild, powdery.”
What I bought is the previous iteration with flowers submerged in perfume oil, while the one after is purely perfume oil, so this review maaay be outdated in case the new version is different! On me the powder starts out very in-your-face, but I love powder notes so if anything this makes me excited. Over time the powder mellows down but is still more prominent, while the florals start to bloom to create a beautiful powdery floral fragrance that isn’t screechy. Verdict: 🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄 LOVE. If the term “pabebe” existed in 1950s Philippines, I would wear this in that timeline hahaha Vibe: Holding your recently-bathed, freshly-powdered baby. Watching your husband, your first and only love, watering your blossoming garden in a clear day. (Nope not projecting at all lol)
☕️ The Small Batches Perfumery ☕️ Where you can buy them: ig: thesmallbatchesperfumery Scent/s: Anonymous Gal, Fleurs Exquise, Sucre D’Orge, Eclat de Fruits, Essence de Tourmaline, Le Jardin Secret, Prive Tous Inclus, Legere Comme L’air, Chocolat Extreme, Cafe Intense, Gingerbread Cookie, Iris and Saffron Oud, Iris en Hiver Price: P3795 for a bundle of 12 10ml roll-ons General verdict: I bought the 12 pc. set (+ 1 bonus 10ml scent, free body oil and 2 free decants of commercial perfumes) with the intention of keeping only 3-5 for myself and the rest to give as gifts to friends and family. These last 6-7 hours on me. Seller is kind and accommodating and always makes updates. Anonymous Gal - ”Fresh, Aquatic, Oriental dry down.”
This evokes a specific childhood memory that I don’t even know what. It smells like shampoo from a brand that I don’t remember. Amoy bagong ligo, which there are a lot in SBP’s catalogue, for Anonymous Gal it smells clean, fresh, and...creamy? Not creamy like sweet, just, creamy? It’s hard to describe. I’m a bit jealous of the reviews saying it’s fresh creamy oriental on them, I think my skin amped the aquatic notes on this one. 😭 Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️ I’d love it better if the dry down was the entire scent! Vibe: taking a long shower during one of your rest days, contemplating whether you should go out with your friends or not exist for 24 hours while shampooing your hair for longer than necessary.
Fleurs Exquise - ”Opulent, Sweet Floral (borderline gourmand), appeals to fans of Flowerbomb, Flowerbomb Nectar, Flowerbomb Extreme, La Vie Est Belle, etc.”
I’ve never smelled any of the perfumes mentioned, but I have smelled YSL’s Black Opium, and to me Fleurs Exquise reminds me of that, but more sweet floral and without the coffee note from YSL. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️ I’m quite torn tbh! If I smelled this a few years ago I would be ALL over it, but while I really do like this, I have since moved on to other scents, but I would fondly sniff this every now and then before giving this away. Vibe: purchasing your very first big girl perfume to wear in your very first big girl job. Now your on your way to look for your first set of big girl clothes.
Sucre D’Orge - ”Cotton Candy, Sweet Florals, Marshmallow, and Sandalwood. Sweet, but sits lighter on the skin.”
MMM! This is sweet. My inner sweet tooth gets very excited every time I put this on. If you smelled Al Rehab’s Choco Musk roll on, it’s like that but much more refined and with more depth. The florals are a nice touch to the cotton candy and marshmallow to keep it interesting and not flat, while the sandalwood reigns in the candy notes to be a little more grounded. There's also a tiny bit of caramel in it if I smell closely, and tbh I dig it. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ LOVE! Definitely one of those can't-stop-smelling-my-wrists perfumes. Highly recommended for gourmand lovers. Vibe: eating every chocolate and candy you've been craving for and you know it's really bad for you, but in that moment you don't care because what's wrong in eating another snickers bar? (actually no pls don't, everything in moderation!!)
Eclat de Fruits - ”Fruity, sweet, effervescent. Perfect summer fragrance for lovers of sweet scents, but can’t tolerate heavy gourmands. Sits very lightly on the skin.”
So first time I put this on, this smells like ballpen ink. So I rested it for a while thinking the scent might settle. Few days later, I can now smell the fruit notes, mostly cherry, but now instead of ink it now smells like cherry-flavored medicine I was given as a child. Over wear time, the medicine note goes away and is left with cherry with other notes I can’t identify. UPDATE: OKAY, so the ballpen ink note is completely gone. I think this perfume has been properly rested. The cherry note remains, but I’m happy to report it’s not medicine-y anymore, it’s hardly there now, mostly at the background. Now it smells...well, fruity! But not like bright fruity, it’s dark like wine. It has a slight red wine accord to it, but I wouldn’t call it a an actual wine scent because of its sweetness. I’m actually starting to like it! Definitely a perfume that needs resting and getting used to. Verdict: ☕️☕️ I occasionally like fruit-dominant scents, but I can’t get the picture of cherry-flavored meds out of my head! UPDATE VERDICT: ☕️☕️☕️☕️ Not cherry medicine anymore!! It transformed beautifully on me into sweet, sweet red wine-ish fragrance. Vibe: absent from school, anxiously waiting for 3:00pm for your scheduled cold medicine, watching cartoon re-runs while thinking what your classmates are up to while you’re gone. UPDATE VIBE: looking through a photo album filled with old pictures of you from grade-school, fondly reminiscing the simpler days as you drink sweet, cherry red wine.
Essence de Tourmaline - ”Earthy, green, fresh and unapologetically sophisticated, sans the heaviness and slightly dated vibe of most perfumes. For women who take classiness a notch higher. Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but tourmalines are for queens.”
I. LOVE. This. This smells close to Lush’s Buck’s Fizz body conditioner and Celebration body, but blended more appropriately for a perfume. It smells like the fanciest orange I’ve ever smelled, with the earth note stopping the orange from being too sweet. This is such a great after-shower scent, fresh and clean but the earthy citrus keeps it interesting. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ LOVE. Now I want orange juice. Vibe: drinking freshly squeezed orange juice to start your work day, after putting on your dainty jewelry to complete your power look. What they don’t know is you’re still swamped from your previous overtime, but they don’t need to know that after a bit of concealer.
Le Jardin Secret - ”The name suggests a mysterious fragrance and alludes to its floral nuances. White florals and powdery accords are the highlight of this fragrance. It brings about some of the best floral notes such as Jasmine, Neroli, Honeysuckle, Magnolia, Ylang Ylang, and Lily of the Valley.”
Another bagong-ligo scent to me. In comparison to Anonymous’ shampoo and Tourmaline’s citrus accords, Jardin is all florals. I can’t pick up the powder notes, my nose translates it as clean, creamy. Like floral soap. Tbh it smells more soap than floral on me! Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️ I prefer Tourmaline as an after-shower scent. Would smell better on other people, but soapy scents just don’t jive well with my skin. Vibe: after a long day from work, you took a much deserved shower. You put your phone on silent for the next few hours to have a moment to yourself, browsing on netflix what’s the best series to binge on while waiting for your hair to dry.
Prive Tous Inclus - ”Opulence and unrestrained grandiose are among the most befitting words to describe this fragrance. The warm spicy accords as well as the woodsy notes bring about the feeling ease and coziness that is perfect for winter or cold indoor settings. This unisex fragrance makes clever use of notes such as cinnamon bark, sandalwood, snowdrops, nutmeg, ginger, and clove. The sweet undertones come from the spices instead of caramel or sugar, which elevates the perfume's personality to a much higher level.”
It says it’s unisex, but to me it leans very close to masculine. I’m not good at describing male-forward scents but I’ll try. It smells like a men’s perfume that I come across every now and then, but idk what that exact perfume is. It’s spicy, but in a cold way? I do pick up the sweet notes, but I can’t tell which notes are doing that, I suspect it’s the cinnamon bark and/or nutmeg. This would smell nice on guys. On me? Not so much. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️ It’s fine on guys, but I wouldn’t take a double take, er, sniff. Vibe: that guy you’re seeing who you’re not sure whether his boasts at his entrepreneurial prowess actually has merit or is complete bs, but hey, at least he knows how to dress up!
Legere Comme L’air - ” On the fresher end of the spectrum is this light and airy fragrance that is perfect for those hot summer days when you almost do not want to put on perfume. The prominent notes of osmanthus blossom, green tea, grapefruit, bergamot, blood orange, and heliotrope brings it together to make it an accomplished fragrance. Legere Comme L'air is perfect for the office, and on those nervous first dates when you want to be memorable without leaving a cloud of cloying scent behind.”
So to me, THIS is unisex. Still masculine-leaning but I can actually see myself wearing this when the situation arises. This also reminds of another men’s perfume that I don’t know of. Light, fresh, and the combination of the florals and fruits blend well together that they complement each other without overpowering the other. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️ Not for me, but would smell really good on guys! Vibe: riding the mrt and standing beside you is a well-dressed man staring vacantly outside the window just like you did a few moments ago. Every now and then you catch a whiff of his perfume, and wonder what’s a man like him doing in a vehicle like mrt? The train stops at Buendia, and before you know it he’s hastily on his way out, accidentally bumping your shoulder and a quick glance at you says “I’m sorry.” As the train continues onward to Guadalupe, you catch a faint scent of the stranger’s perfume on the shoulder he bumped into. (Yaks bakit naging novella HAHAHAHA)
Chocolat Extreme - ”For chocolate lovers who can appreciate the subtle nuances of cocoa in its various forms. This fragrance is an indulgence like no other and it appeals mostly to gourmand lovers with singular cravings. This should come with a warning label: WILL MAKE YOU CRAVE FOR CHOCOLATE CAKE AND OTHER CHOCOLATE DESSERTS.”
I’m a chocoholic through and through, so this positive review is inevitable. It’s a bittersweet cocoa. That’s it. And sometimes that’s enough. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ LOVE! Kung gusto mo magdiet at tumigil sa tsokolate singhutin mo to hahaha Vibe: hot chocolate made from tsokolate tablea, watching feel-good movies you used to enjoy many moons ago.
Cafe Intense - ”For coffee die-hards who love to smell of java. Coffee accords, lightly sweet toffee, and vanilla shine through and gives this fragrance structure and impressive longevity.”
Other than chocolate, I’m infamously known to be a coffeeholic. Smells like french vanilla with an extra shot of expresso with a smidge of toffee. Or kopiko candy. There’s also this slight floral note lingering somewhere upon dry down, which tbh I love it. I don’t know if that’s just me though, but I’m not complaining. Mixing this with Chocolat Extreme is ✨👌 gourmand goodness. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ LOVE! Enough said. Vibe: drinking java at your local cafe, setting up your laptop, planner, and notes. You’re going to be there for a while.
Gingerbread Cookie - ”Made of praline accords, gingerbread note, cinnamon bark, vanilla, and brown sugar, Gingerbread Cookies Extrait de Parfum is a delectable gourmand fragrance that puts you in a state of holiday cheer, no matter the time of year.”
I’ve never tried gingerbread cookies, like at all. My idea of the holidays is chocolate cake, cookies, and strong coffee. So honestly my idea isn’t really festive. 😅 This scents smells strongly of cinnamon to me, reminds me so much of cinnamon bread (mmm now I want one). Very spicy, it dries down sweeter due to the vanilla and brown sugar, but the cinnamon still makes its presence known. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️ I like it! Though I won’t put this as often as Chocolat, Sucre, and Cafe, this would be nice to use on days where I want gourmand but more spicy than sweet. Vibe: you’re invited to your friend’s xmas party where their holiday traditions are more westernized, whereas you’d rather be eating sweet spaghetti and lechon than drink another eggnog (ngl I wanna know what eggnog tastes like)
Iris and Saffron Oud
IRISES! One of the few florals in perfumes I adore to bits. Iris and Saffron Oud is sophisticated, the oud elevating it beyond just being another floral perfume. It almost smells cold, despite the oud. I’d wear this for formal events, but I can see people wearing this for work because why the hell not? Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ Love. I feel so fancy wearing this for someone wearing shorts. 🥸 Vibe: attending a formal ball, roaming outside to the estate’s garden to take a breather from the noise. The music and chatter begins to fade away as you go further into the garden, irises swaying softly, the crisp chill air indicate the dying days of summer.
Iris en Hiver
This is Saffron Oud’s daintier sister. It reminds me a bit of Narciso Rodriguez Poudree, but they’re not the same. (I’m assuming NR Rouge would be similar, but I haven’t tried that yet) Soft powder complements the iris, with dry down leaning more powdery and creamy (is that even a thing?) as time goes on. Like RMiTF’s Promise Ring, it invokes a sense of innocence, but this is a tad bit more mature. Verdict: ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ Love. Irises and powder notes? So lovely. 🤍 Vibe: back to the ball, retouching your lipstick and patting another layer of face powder before getting back to the scene. You see irises in ornate vases upon exiting the bathroom.
🍷 Pete and Alia 🍷 Where you can buy them: website, shopee Scent/s: (Feminine set) 004 Chance, 005 Beldandy, 006 Jasmine. (Cheers set) 007 Salvador, 008 Blanca Price: P499 for the Discovery sample sets General verdict: These solid perfumes are very well made, also worth noting is these are the first rice-based perfumes in the PH, and a percentage of proceeds goes to various charities. Even for small samples, they seem dense enough that finishing one will take a while before you buy a full size. I haven’t tested longevity yet as I got these recently and tested each one every 2 hours, so I’ll update this part in the future to report on that. UPDATE: These last 2-3 hours on my skin, not very strong. Would need frequent touchups. 004 Chance - ”The chance is the classic rose scent destined on the skin of the independent city woman who longs to be free in a floral field of roses. she says hello with fresh notes of bergamot blended with floral and fruity notes of rose and cantaloupe. she smiles at you as she fades into vanilla, patchoulli, and leather. notes: bergamot, rose, cantaloupe, vanilla, patchoulli, leather.”
I don’t get rose? If there is, it might be faint. I think I’m mostly smelling cantaloupe, which I don’t really like. I can’t detect the rose and vanilla at all even after two hours went by, maaaybe I can smell the patchouli, but I could’ve been nose-blind at that point. There’s also something waxy about this scent, I thought it could be the leather, but idk? I have no idea, it reminds me of one of the Watsons brand lipbalms that I dislike so much because of its waxy scent. Verdict: 🍷🍷 I may not be the right person for this. I really do wish the rose and vanilla notes were more prominent, but that’s just me 🤷🏻♀️ Vibe: accompanying your friend in their candle-making class. They’re passionately explaining to you the process of it all while you nod along and encourage them, genuinely happy for their excitement but also getting a little lost throughout their explanation.
005 Beldandy - ”The beldandy is the loyal friend of every strong independent woman. She comforts her with fresh notes of lemon and thyme blended with floral, aromatic, and nutty notes of rose and cardamom. She sits with you with calming notes similar to a cup of tea. notes: lemon, thyme, rose, cardamom, tea.”
Oooh, I like this! Citrusy and floral in equal measure, the rose and lemon notes really shine through in this one, while thyme and cardamom gives them an earthy balance. The lemon here isn’t like sweetened iced lemon tea, more like hot brewed lemon tea blend. It’s very calming. Verdict: 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 Love! Imo this is a pretty safe buy. Vibe: browsing the shops at Cubao Expo, looking for a good deal on secondhand books. You eventually stop by a cafe residing there, sipping on lemon tea as you’re reading one of the books you bought.
006 Jasmine - ”The jasmine is the unapologetic fruity and floral scent made for the girl who chooses a bouquet of jasmine over roses. She draws you in with fresh notes of bergamot and jasmine blended with fruity notes of melon and green apple, and then slowly fades into vanilla, patchoulli, and leather. notes: bergamot, jasmine, melon, green apple, vanilla, patchoulli, leather.”
P+A has a quiz where the result is the recommended perfume for you, and I got Jasmine. I like jasmine usually (Lush’s Lust and Flying Fox are really good jasmine heavy scents!) and while this one is also purely jasmine, this specifically is very much like sampaguita. Sampaguita as a flower, I adore. As perfume, not really. The bergamot and green apple add a zest to the jasmine, while I can’t really detect a whole lot of vanilla/patchouli/leather even on dry down. Verdict: 🍷🍷🍷 Not really keen on smelling like sampaguita. 😅 Vibe: visiting your local church on a wednesday, the last mass has just finished and you’re waiting for the next one. You kneel down and pray on one of the pews. The first thing you see when you look up is the statue of Mother Mary, her silent gaze knows of your untold truths.
007 Salvador - ”Salvador holds a glass of red wine in one hand and you in the other. He leads the night with a citrus combination of bergamot, ginger, and grapefruit. He seduces you with a garden filled with lily of the valleys and there, a delicious temptation of forbidden stone fruits of plum and peach. He leaves you craving for more with warm earthy memories of oud, cedar, and tonka beans notes: bergamot, ginger, grapefruit, lily of the valley, plum, peach, oud, cedar, tonka beans.”
This is a masculine scent, but works well as unisex. The fruit notes, particularly grapefruit, peach and plum, work really well with the earthy accords of oud and tonka beans. The bergamot and lily of the valley softens the rest of the notes to create a smooth aromatic blend. It’s fruity without being overly sweet, it just smells...smooth. Understated, but smells so good. Verdict: 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 I would love to smell this on a guy, it smells really enticing! Vibe: he invites you to have an impromptu dinner at his place, and upon getting there he surprises you with homemade dinner and a bottle of wine. He bashfully tells you that he wished this would’ve been more romantic, but you’re already thinking how to show your appreciation after dinner.
008 Blanca - ”Blanca composes herself with incredible spirit and grace. She wakes up flawless and fresh with notes of lavender and lemon. She brings in life with fruity notes of pineapple and coconut. The sunset waits for her to finish her glass of white wine with warm notes of incense and oud. notes: lavender, lemon, pineapple, coconut, incense, oud.”
This smells like an expensive candle, but unlike Chance, the waxy note smells better, most likely because of the coconut. The lavender, oud and incense softens the coconut further, it almost smells creamy, like luxurious coconut lotion. I can’t smell the pineapple on me though. Like Salvador, this is a smooth fragrance. Verdict: 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 Love! I don’t normally go for coconut scents, but this is an exception. Vibe: having a staycation at a hotel outside Metro Manila. Scheduled a spa day with your friends as you catch up and gossip over white wine.
If you’ve gotten this far, thank you so much for sticking with me! Everything except Pete and Alia I’ve been testing and revisiting since the past year, either for weeks or months. As for Pete and Alia, if my thoughts change in the future I’ll do my best to update them in this post. Anywho, please support local! So many brands are popping up that are creating original products, handmade and most materials are sourced right here in the Philippines. You’ll never know that what you’re looking for may just be right here all along! 😄💜 Edit: I HATE mobile formatting hahahayst

Luckily for you narcotics are consistently both strong and extremely pleasant ensuring no bad trips, comedowns or accidental psycho-related murders. Whiskey Rose - 700 CP You remain as capable as ever and do not experience the negative effects of alcohol or drugs at all suffering no addictions or hangovers. Semper Invicta! Basic Gear - Free Recon Armor + Laser Rifle Big Iron - Free Whether a Ranger Sequoia, a scoped hunting revolver, your lucky sidearm or something more mysterious this is a powerful revolver with a theme of your choice that packs a punch greater than it has any right to. This is like Ranger Sequoia but slightly different design to not be mistaken for it. Power Armor - 500 CP A fine suit of Power Armor with the design (and paint-job) of your choice, a level of protection greater than even a T-51B suit, a huge increase to your physical strength and a tesla drive improving energy based attacks. Sierra Madre Vending Machine - 0 CP A vending machine that can fabricate food, drinks, cigarettes, clothes, medicine, ammo and other supplies containing all known codes of the resort. Requires chips but comes with a hatch that provides a needlessly large stipend daily. Scenario: OLD WORLD BLUES There is an expression in the Wasteland: "Old World Blues". It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is. Big MT, a research base before the war and now a legendary treasure trove of technology. “Controlled” by a group of think tanks (unique brain bots with the not entirely stable brains of brilliant pre-war scientists) called the Think Tank and Mobius their former colleague and current adversary (also a think tank). The Think Tank do not know it (currently running on the theory that there is no world outside Big MT) but many of their experiments and creations (cazadores and night stalkers chief among them) have escaped into the wastes and brought death and destruction with them. Your task is to fight your way through lobotomites, mini- deathclaws and robo-scorpions alike to either destroy the Think Tank and permanently stop any further threat their experiments pose to the Mojave or to reason with them and convince them to work together on your behalf for (hopefully) a brighter future. Your time picking through the labs of Big MT have afforded you a certain way of thinking. As if possessed by the will of SCIENCE! itself you find yourself constantly coming up with scientific breakthroughs that you’re sure will work. Unfortunately, while potentially possible to turn to good, these ideas are always initially somewhere between pointless and horribly insane. You may not be able to cure diseases or invent tools that improve basic quality of life but the creation of new species of monstrous mutants or the invention of sapient neurotic sinks is now, not only possible, but downright easy. If removed you may also take your own brain in a jar as a companion. Don’t ask, it just works. You also get your own pet X-42 giant robo-scorpion that seems to run without an energy source. Story Interlude: The moment we both appeared in my warehouse, McCullum was quite stunned about such a place. He asked why it looked like a big warehouse that could be seen in docks but I replied I had no idea honestly, but told him I can change it later with sufficient WP. He just looked at me with a questioning expression. It took some time to explain how all this worked but in the end he understood. He went around but commented how empty this place is when he noticed that I don’t have many things beside my tent that works as a barrack, which is a tent because it looked better for one person. I know I can make it a building like the military has if needed, and so I did. The tent vanished with my thought and a small building appeared, along with two beds and some basic furniture. Next thing we did was to go to my medic bay area, which also had vending machine sized diagnostic tool for medical things. It was supposed to scan McCullum and correct anything bad in his body, he stepped closer upon my explanation. I pushed the button and he was covered in light for a moment before the screen changed and various data started appearing. Seems like he is healthy and being Ekon for so long has removed all diseases he had as a human. No defects or any other problems detected, good. With check up done we went back to the area near our new barrack. My seven day rest time automatically activated so we had time for him to get ready for our next jump and also to acquire some information relevant to the setting. For now I told him to leave his sword and revolver in the barracks and to let us test both of our abilities, since we didn’t spar or anything during our journey throughout europe. Taking care to be near the medicine bay just in case. I showed him my power to spawn blood packs, which he found interesting but also inconceivable. I gave him a good supply of them if he needed to drink. Next thing was comparing mastery over our powers. As a 2nd generation ekon with 9 years of experience he managed to learn all ekon powers aside from the three ultimate attacks, while other powers weren’t maxed out. Seeing as he wasn’t like Mary, going on and slaughtering people and drinking blood like nothing, he merely approached her in power after 9 years. He also learned how to make 1 shadow clone, which seems like a limit that a normal vampire can make. His physical body is near peak human. Meanwhile I by the time of final fight with Red Queen maxed out my powers as normal ekon, learning all powers, even ultimate ones, all due to fighting and evolution ability, which only worked to maxing out to game level. After that I had to train and use my capstone boosted less limits perk, which removed them all together. After 9 more years of training my abilities went beyond those of even 1st gen ekon. My blood barrier became strong enough to easily handle attacks of skals and other creatures like sewer beasts. Even if I tried the same thing that cut off my arm back then wouldn’t work easily. I could hit myself three times at full power while it remained active, needing another weaker hit before it broke, tested after using someone else's weapons of course. My shadow mist ability became about two times larger, now able to cover significant areas and damaging enemies swiftly and deadly. Invisibility power became very easy to use and now I could sustain it by using barely any stamina, even if sprinting. But not using super speed. I could also sustain it even if bumping into something or being attacked, but not when I myself attacked, seems it’s still beyond me. I was also quite versatile in usage of my powers, not being a specialist like in the game, I could use both forms of powers combined if I so desired. Like a hard blood barrier and an exploding one, though this decreased power if used at the same time so I keeped to what I liked. I didn’t figure out shooting homing blood spears but I could shoot them in quicker succession than normal, needing about 1s between use. I could also shoot several smaller ones each for different targets rather than three in a wedge. My claws became one of my more used abilities in close combat now too, claws made of blood are capable of persisting while I strike for three blows instead of one like normal, can make it for both of my hands if needed even. They are also tougher than my saber is and more damaging. Coagulation ability wasn’t trained as much as others but I can still use it easily enough for a bit longer than what is allowed. Meanwhile my ultimate powers stayed relatively normal, I can handle using them more often though. Other than that I am about double that of peak human in physical capability, my body mod didn’t stack at 100% with my ekon stats and ended up like this. Though I can feel I’m slowly growing in body strength, it’s quite a small boost. So the next few days was spent on me feeding Geoffrey blood packs, while he can’t easily evolve like I can, he can train with limitless supply of blood, only being limited by stamina for shadow powers. Between his training I also told him about my original world and my first jump. He was interested in a world without monsters, though he stopped calling ekons as such. Thankfully he came to terms with his powers. Then I myself spent some time on choosing my next jump, which will be Fallout New Vegas and one of my favorite games. The reason for jumping there is due to amazing technology I could acquire and how it will help me when I decide to jump to Mass Effect. This came with a crash course on Fallout setting for Geoffrey so he could handle it more easily. His expression was amazing when I told him what kind of world this will be, but also sad on why it was as such, meaning nuclear apocalypse. So without further rambling I started setting up the next jump. I decided to be member of the Brotherhood of Steel as a scribe scientist, combining it with learning perks and 100 CP transferred to my body mod, which made me intelligent and gave me resistance to disease and toxins, which are something I hate and am not certain my new body will handle easily, which I made to look just like my Ekon one. I got a few free perks for this origin even, mainly power armor training so that it’s as easy as breathing for me to move efficiently in it, quick learning perk, and something akin to the ending slideshow I saw in the game. For the ones I bought was the ability to learn even faster, combined with my body mod and free perk I should be at least a genius in intellect… hopefully. In addition to not getting resistant to chems and immunity to bad things that could happen when I take them. This is crucial for getting various boosts I will get. Next was the item section, free gear which is laser rifle and recon armor, not bad. A doctor bag with respawning supply of stimpaks, med-x and limb fixing package as well as basic medic tools. Very good. The things I bought were two, Euclid’s C-Finder.which is a rangefinder for orbital laser cannon like Archimedes II, very powerful and useful for me, and also a cool asset. The other one is Sierra Madre Vending machine with replenishing supply of a large amount of chips. This will help me with supplies and my plan on giving it more blueprints, which should in theory work. My next thing to do was getting companion import, I wanted to have McCullum as my friend in arms and a paladin of the brotherhood. So he became a soldier and a member of my faction there. I asked him what he wanted when he had break from training and he came up with these perks and items. Basic gear just like me, free powerful revolver, which he imported from his own one, now upgraded tremendously. A set of X-01 power armor, keeping in mind that most people use T-45 or T-51 I wonder how it will work in the jump. We shall see. He then bought two heavy weapons to fight against both armies and powerful singular enemies, with a unique gatling laser and unique gauss rifle. I doubt he will have trouble killing much of anything in Fallout. He told me then there wasn’t much he needed so I persuaded him to buy us a second Vending Machine. He easily agreed after I explained to him how powerful of a tool it is, with two of them our options will expand even more. Geoffrey was a bit troubled when I told him that I also want to buy a deathclaw egg, since after learning how much of a killing machine it can grow into he understood he was weaker than it, at least as he is now. But I assured him it will be friendly to us. Eventually he agreed. Good thing we will get vending machines for food. I hope it hatches easily as I don’t have experience with such things. Later on I saw I’m short on CP and had to take drawbacks, one will make mutated insects attack me, while other will make it similar to in game quests, meaning that it will fall to me and companions to deal with stuff and we will not get help in terms of people. I don’t really mind it as I intend to train my ekon powers away from curious eyes, same for Geoffrey. Oh, wait. How do we hatch deathclaw as members of BoS? I think we will need to leave the egg in the warehouse for some time and then get some mission and hatch it. Hmm I can use my access key to sort of teleport so I could visit the egg even if inside the Hidden Valley. I will buy more of these keys to give to McCullum one too. Just before the week of training and preparation is over I tell McCullum my plan and the scenario I have chosen. We will acquire advanced technology, weapons, armor, chems, robots maybe while trying to make Mojave a safer place, he agreed to that readily. I smiled and then explained I have chosen the scenario to be Old Worlds Blue, a super high tech facility with brilliant minds such as Think Tank and Mobius who I intend to make peace with and gather more technology, in addition to super powerful giant robo scorpion. I told him it will be a dangerous battle ahead, at least to get to Mobius and we will need experience and plenty of tech to do it. I chose to start in BoS bunker instead of in Big Mt. since it would be too dangerous for now and I know how to get us teleported there, at least me, he can then step through the warehouse to help me. While I’m averse to getting lobotomized, it’s probably my only option for now, at least until I get smarter. Perhaps I will be able to avoid such a thing and other bad events from the plot. For now we stood there as the countdown approached. My warehouse didn’t have a cleaning facility so we were dirty as ever, hopefully our new bodies will be clean. Space Shattered after I initialised the jump. Story: In a blink I appeared in a metal room, it was my bedroom inside of Hidden Valley bunker. Geoffrey seems to also have appeared inside of his own. I wasn’t wearing my cloak and suit but scientist clothes that were basic clothing of scribes around here. Looking around the room it was similar in design to how I remembered from the game. Still the sight of a big egg sitting peacefully on my bed startled me a bit. Thankfully there wasn’t any sort of camera system so I covered it quickly with my blanket and immediately opened the door to my warehouse to put the egg inside, I couldn’t teleport it as other things as it was alive. Not wasting time I placed it only on my bed in the barrack and left before anyone would try to open the door to my room to talk with me and just a few seconds later I heard the door opening as I remede my bed sheets. McCullum has entered the room. I asked him how he was, having jumped the first time with me and he explained it was strange having another but the same body. Lack of his ekon powers in his new form surprised him. But he was also happy to lose that weakness, which was inability to eat or drink normal food. He has long since wished to taste it once again so we went to mess hall. There I asked him what about the power armor he bought and it seems that it wasn’t in his room. Good thing as X-01 top tier pre war prototype appearing in a paladin room would be bizarre. I considered explaining that I made it or something but I doubt it would work here. Even more with his two top tier weapons. At least his revolver which he has won’t make others cast strange gazes at us. I told him about the deathclaw egg and how it appeared near my bed and we agreed it would be dangerous to have someone stumble upon us having it. Could perhaps get us exiled or court martialed. With that said our new fake memories were certainly useful. We had pretty much most of what we needed to not stand out in the chapter. McCullum also had extensive knowledge of weapons and experience on using them and his power armor while I had a variety of subjects I was expert at regarding fallout technology. With my current level I inherently understand and would not have a problem creating power armor as long as I had schematics for it, and repairing armor and weapons is a breeze. Making new weapons and armor is also possible if a long term subject, but still I’m not the best in the field. Based on my understanding Courier should be laying in his grave right about now as it’s night time. Big Mt. story should happen towards the mid or end of his journey, at least after Nipton and meeting Vulpes. So we have at the least a few days and at most months. I even with my current intellect have a worry about continuity of self so I do not intend to be teleported and lobotomized by the Think Tank so I will enter the area by conventional method, it should be possible as I know the rough location and that Elijah did it. So the first thing to do would be to try to get some field mission to get outside. I don’t know how we can raise our deathclaw inside. Though currently we know that there are a few recon squads gathering information regarding the situation in the Mojave, we probably won’t get a mission. Due to this next week was spent reading through the BoS database for all technology I had access to, which was most actually. We also had some time to check out weapons and armor we bought for the jump, and the deathclaw egg looked fine too, and didn't change in any way yet. The items were as impressive as I thought they would be. I have shot the armor with McCullum new weapons and it managed to endure quite a few shots even in the same place before melting or breaking off. Then I tried attacking it with my own powers but only managed to leave deep scratches with my claws, blood spears also made a few shallow holes. On the other hand my Abyss ability managed to barely pierce the chest plate protecting the frame, it could probably injure a person inside more akin to a gunshot. It wasn’t able to lift it off the ground like it can with skals or humans though. Perhaps it can be strengthened. Later Geoffrey used his upgraded revolver to shoot my blood barrier. It managed to block one shot and broke after two. Next was shooting my arm, it hurt a bit but I regenerated in a moment. Last test was him using Gauss Cannon and Gatling Laser to attack my blood barrier, of course aiming at the edge. Gauss pierced it like it wasn’t even there, Gatling took a few shots. Though considering both can eventually damage power armor I don’t feel bad. My next goal regarding mastering my power even more is blocking gauss cannon, which is probably the most powerful kinetic weapon in this desert. I also need to be able to do more damage with my claws and spear to power armored enemies, these roboscorpions will be tough as nails. With not much else to do, McCullum was honing his skills with the basic gear he got like a laser rifle, which he was good already in using. I hoarded knowledge with my perfect memory. In due time I started to get some ideas in regards to how Sierra Madre Vending Machines work. We haven't yet tried them out because I want to leave it after we are in the field. Then as the third week was starting I managed to give a convincing idea in regards to a field mission. Mine and Geoffrey's mission is to leave the bunker and deal with powder gangers that have set up a base of operations a few km from the base. Perfect opportunity. McCullum was to deal with fighting while I was to interrogate them and see if they know anything about technology nearby and information about the factions here. So Geoffrey was allowed to take T-51 power armor and a minigun for this mission while I followed with my Recon armor and Laser Rifle. Obliterating them was easy enough, even with just the weapons we got. I also used a blood barrier which was quite visible, but provided me protection from their shitty pistols. Once we killed most I used my mind control power to force questions out of the guy we left alive. Some useless info, news about some Courier saving Primm from raiders. We were pleasantly surprised he managed to arrive in Primm after so much time. Now we had a brief time to start our real operation here. I had McCullum patrol the surroundings while I took one of our vending machines outside to this place, while I could teleport it here, I didn’t want to have it break if it appeared in the air or something. Next I have uploaded several blueprints I managed to create during my two weeks on my personal computer and uploaded in holotape. I have given it the ability to produce several different ammunition, frag, plasma and emp grenades among the combat ones, in addition to some chems like Jet I managed to get info on the components it is made of without having to reinvent the dung recipe someone remade. Still the most important thing I got was a blueprint for a mister handy robot and mister gutsy robot, the basic ones. I was quite nervous if it was gonna work but by the evening we managed to make enough parts for one of each of them. By the dawn I have put the parts together and activated them using one of fusion cores I managed to get from the person in charge of supplies. I didn’t have time to make a blueprint for it yet but I will have to make one sometime later to return the two I took. About 10am in the morning we were done with checking to see if it will work and proceed to activate them. I activated personality subroutine in both and they proclaimed their loyalty to me. I have given Geoffrey a secondary access so he could give them orders as long as they did not go against my own orders or intended to harm me. We still had two days left to return as our mission duration was three generous days. The four of us left the Raider camp while I returned the vending machine to the warehouse. We went south from the camp and rushed to NCR correctional facility which was just a prison. By the time we arrived it was already afternoon. The facility was quite empty, it seems that Courier has killed Powder Gangers inside. So we occupied it as our new base of operations. Geoffrey cleaned whatever scum had managed to hide in the basement of this place, which was also a few ghouls, a scary place indeed. I meanwhile took the building with the biggest space inside and set up my vending machine once again there. Also by using the door there I could later on teleport here if desired. Very cool. My Mister Gutsy was instructed to stand guard outside the building door and watch out for hostels or anyone really. Mister handy was told to watch while I make parts for another batch of them and then make them a complete whole. He easily understood how it worked. I told him that his and the other one job is to make another 8 mister handies and teach them how it all works. One mister handy to operate the vending machine, one to create more robots out of parts. I set up another machine at the other end so altogether four of them were to work on making new robots, while six of them were to clean the whole facility so it’s nice to look at. Once 10 of mister handy were in existence they were to switch to making mister gutsy and produce fifty of them. This is gonna take a while but I can’t easily secede from BoS without measure of power. I only really needed them for their knowledge. Based on current estimates I will get four robots per day per vending machine. Generous supply of chips for raw materials also is within capacity, though really close to limit. Nonetheless I expect great results. Mister Gutsy outside is also made supreme commander of my Mr. Gutsy army. I intend to upgrade him later if time allows. He is told to make 5 other Mr. Gutsy as his lieutenants and each of them will have 9 subordinates to call on. Their job is to secure the perimeter of the facility and protect it from harm at all cost. Next I used computer present in the facility to create fusion core blueprint I needed for the rest of my free time, made a few and instructed my Mr. Handy to properly power up the other one i made but lacked power and do the same for every other robot. Which also pushed production to the limit. I took two fusion cores to return and with McCullum we traveled back to give our report. Next two weeks I created blueprints and read through the database more. I had some responsibility but it was quite an easy job as a scribe, while McCullum was training younger members of the chapter. Two weeks later I had created as many gutsies as the area of my base could hold, even the basement. I sent two of them to monitor the area around the place that the satellite was supposed to crash in case Old World Blues was to start from. Thankfully Courier did his quests in NCR outpost and passed through Nipton. It seems he is a good guy from the rumours I had heard. As he slowly journeyed north I spent another month figuratively eating knowledge of the brotherhood. It was exceedingly vast but I had absorbed the majority already. My vending machines already had blueprints for all BoS armors and weapons, for a computer, foods of all kinds and medicine. I also managed to crack creation of power armors, the schematics were locked so I had to study T-51 that McCullum can use for training and his X-01 he trains on sometimes in the warehouse. Speaking of warehouses, we have long since took the deathclaw egg away from it. Now it sits in one of the buildings at our base, with mister handy taking care of it, we of course uploaded knowledge regarding deathclaws and all around medicine so he can take relatively proper care. Biosigns detected through a device I made told me it will hatch within next month. I will probably need to make it go around the wasteland for experience and so his growth is not stunted. I hope he recognizes me as a master or parent of some kind properly. But I have little worry as my benefactor powers seem great. I sometimes took McCullum on a stroll around our base, during the night of course as we were supposed to be in our rooms since he looked bored and was asking me how our plan was going to which I replied it was better than I realised it would be.
